Serra dos Órgãos National Park is an example of how desperate a place needs to become in order for travellers and locals to care for it. Today travellers arrive looking for a true experience of nature.
Park fees from all visitors are re-directed for its maintenance. Local establishments have started to teach their employees on how the Park is of environmental importance, and conservation efforts are slowly growing, for example signs of endangered local fauna and flora. Trekking is by nature a low impact activity, and a vehicles will only be used to take travellers to nearby towns. On the treks, you will be accompanied by a local English speaking guide/biologist.
You will be staying in local inns which employ local workers and provide them with careful training so they can better assist travellers in their needs. Meals will be prepared locally, taken from an organic vegetable garden. Evening live performances by local musicians will bring travellers closer to the Brazilian music and the Bossa Nova Rio de Janeiro is so famous for.
During this trip you will have a chance to learn about the local culture. Nearby towns will provide entertainment to those looking for live entertainment & a meal out. The nearby town of Itaipava famous for its hand knitting crafts and marvelous culinary chefs will be visited, as well as Petrópolis where travellers will see main sites and learn about its past history.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
