The idea of this trip is to bring awareness to this region of Brazil.
Accommodation is in locally owned pousadas/inns and you will have the chance to savour the local cuisine (fish!). Travellers will be given suggestions to try smaller restaurants in order to promote local establishments and start up businesses.
Travellers will be visiting small villages and making contact with locals, in order to better understand local culture and life.
Trips are guided by local biologist and as far as possible are conducted on foot in order to minimize negative impact of transport. Each traveller will be asked to care for their personal garbage and carry it back to the inn where it can be properly disposed. Vehicles will only be used when there is a need to cover large distances by road.
In the face of ongoing urbanisation and destruction of habitats, travellers are involved with the River Otter Project to help raise the awareness of the importance of conserving the otter in terms of potential revenue for the local community. 1-2% of the trip cost is re-directed to the project.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
