How this holiday makes a difference

We are a non-profit co-operative organization whose members each participate in the decision-making process of the school and receive the same salary. All of our teachers are native speakers with university degrees, and they are specialists in teaching Spanish as a foreign language in Granada.

All of the private accommodation offered to students is selected carefully by the school and is within walking distance. The school pays the rents entirely to the accommodations and only charges a small commission to cover the administration expenses.

All fees paid by the students for cultural activities go entirely to local guides and companies. The school only charges a small commission to cover the administration expenses.

The school offers weekly conferences concerning ecological local problems; we collaborate with the WWF and donate on a regular base for the campaign www.salvalince.com

We endeavor, if requested, to find a suitable language partner from Granada who is learning your native language. This enhances the language learning process, promotes intercultural exchange and encourages autodidactic learning methods.

We also work with local non-government organisations in the field of language learning. The school offers on a regular base free Spanish Courses for african immigrants and refugees to learn Spanish in Granada.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The school is very well run. The staff and teachers are extremely professional and experienced. The two teachers I had were excellent, which I think make all the difference, and contributed to a wonderful experience. The school also organised a trip to see a stage performance of "Poet in New York" which was amazing. It was set in the Alhambra gardens which are beautiful and had a great atmosphere!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Try and maximise your time in the school. The teachers recommend a minimum of 1 month to get a decent grip of the language. I did not stay long enough, but I will definitely return to the same school. Also I recommend staying in one of the school shared flats because this provides a great opportunity to meet new people, and practise the language with other students.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, language students bring a lot to the economy of the city.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Superb, and I can not wait to return!! The school is fist class, the staff go out of their way to make sure all of the students are welcomed and have the best experience. I also met lots of other students and shared a flat with some which was great. This was a great way to practise Spanish outside of the school, and everyone socialised together as well. It's an excellent way to meet new people! It was a brilliant holiday!
