Small group family holiday
This is a 'small group family adventure' - typically you will join several other families and travel in a group of approx. 16 people. The trips are great value and a great way for you and your children to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of time to yourselves. Most adventure kids tend to be aged between 7 and 15, but some are younger (minimum age is usually 5) and some older (perhaps travelling as part of a larger family group). Please check with the operator to confirm the minimum age for this trip

How this holiday makes a difference

This family holiday is based in the town of Morzine. The town is mostly known as a winter ski resort however Morzine offers a fantastic array of activities in the summer too.

Ski resort towns are destinations where the seasonality of their product hits the economy and local area hardest. This is especially the case when, as in Morzine, the resort has grown from a pre existing Savoyarde town. Morzine still retains its Savoyarde character and we encourage all guests throughout the week to try and speak some French and experience the local culture.

Morzine tackles the seasonality of the product exceptionally well. This is one of the few resorts you can visit in summer and find a similar buzz to that which you find in winter. People live here and work here all year round so the town retains a soul throughout the year. It is something that the town has been exceptionally conscious off and something which we are happy to support it in.

Morzine utilises the lift systems year round and operates a very successful system of mountain bike trails. The trails are all very well marked and bikers are unable to travel away from the designated areas. This minimises the damage to the environment whilst providing opportunities for employment throughout the year and gaining the maximum benefit from their existing infrastructure.

We always ensure that we work with local suppliers and accommodation wherever possible. In Morzine we work with local guides whose passion for the area is infectious and a family run hotel. This means that our clients get to meet the local people and gain fantastic experiences from them. For example we visit a Savoyarde Chalet for a lunch which most people would not find independently. The remote chalet benefits from our groups and our groups benefit from the experience.

Our hotel accommodation is not part of a large ski based chain but a smaller family run hotel that has been successfully operated by the family in Morzine for decades. They employ local people wherever possible and unlike many hotels remain fully open throughout the summer season ensuring stable employment opportunities. The hotel restaurant serves a mix of local and international cuisine and helps to keep the Savoyarde traditions alive.

The Alps are obviously a stunning natural environment and we work closely with our local providers to ensure that the balance between the tourism and the natural environment is managed. We operate a strict ‘leave no trace’ policy on all of our activities.

Story of the holiday provider

The founder of this company gave up his job as a stockbroker who made rich people richer, put a tent and sleeping bag on the back of his bicycle and went travelling. When he returned home he decided to do what he loved best and retrain so that he could set up an activity holiday company. He believes holidays spent lying on a beach gently grilling under a roasting sun are all very well but the memories from awesome experiences in stunning locations, such as white water rafting in the Pyrenees or dog sledding in Lapland, will last far longer than any sun tan.
