This operator aims to base its operations on the existing strong links between the traditional owners of country and wetlands. This is in order to provide a rich interpretation and experience for tourists, maintain the environment in its existing pristine condition and to celebrate and strengthen the Wik and Wik Way people. All activities are done with the consent and under the auspice of the traditional owners, and this ensures that the three objectives mentioned above are met.
As this tour operator is fully owned by Wik and Wik Way people the benefits of revenue are directly applied to the local economy. Employment of local guides is a key objective that ensures that the tour product is authentic, and that economic benefits are received directly by employees in the local community. It aims to be a long term viable, profitable enterprise providing employment and other economic benefits to the community. However its principle objective is to celebrate the people and culture of the Wik and Wik Way people. This will provide a clear alternative to some of the existing social dysfunction that exists due to alcohol and welfare dependency.
