How this holiday makes a difference

All our accommodation and transport is locally managed and owned. As well as using local restaurants and facilities we also visit local Berber Argan co-operatives that provide employment for local women and help to preserve the Argan forest of southern Morocco.

Our Riad in Sidi Embarque collects rain water for use in their toilets and electricity is sourced via solar panels. In our UK office all paper is recycled, and we also use energy efficient bulbs. Our website is our primary source of marketing and booking (clients can fill in booking forms online and email them), thus reducing reliance on printed matter.

For each client booking with us, we pay to offset the carbon emitted by the flight to Morocco. Our clients are also advised to try to minimise their water consumption, to try to minimise the use of plastic bags when shopping and to turn off electrical appliances when not in the room. Furthermore, by operating with small groups our holidays have less of an impact on our host countries and their resources. It also allows us to get more of a feel for the local people and their way of life.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Yoga on the rooftops, hamam, souks and riads.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Bring warm clothes for night time yoga on the rooftop, you won't do any yoga on the beach (not sure why they put a picture of people doing yoga on the beach - but I wish they would remove it).

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I really hope so.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I met my objective which was to land in Africa, stay in a riad, have a hamam and visit the souks.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Visiting the town of Essaoura. Also, I will not easily forget Eileen, the crazy cat lady on the trip.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared for Morocco. Language skills are very useful. No ATM in Sidi Kouki.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Nope. I killed a dog with a motor bike and our minivan driver crashed (on the way to pick us up), writing off the minivan and spending a few days in hospital. The crazy cat woman also confused the locals by buying meals, then giving them to stray cats.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent. Had a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The whole trip was great. The location was interesting and vibrant, the yoga was relaxing and challenging. I felt so much more focused and relaxed by the end of the trip. Our guide Ali and Karryn our teacher, were both fabulous too, inspiring us all with their happy and relaxed attitudes.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Do it! I had a fabulous time. Don't be scared to miss a yoga session though. Stay true to why you are there and what you want to see. No one will mind and you will feel great for following and doing what you want to do and see.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Brilliant! I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most memorable part of my holiday was waking up early in the same riad that Jimi Hendrix stayed in Essaouira and listening to some guy singing in the apartment across the way. And than going for an early morning walk around the town. A lovely way to see what it's like without the tourists.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Shopping is fab but seriously consider what you want to buy before you set off into the souks, otherwise it can all be quite overwhelming.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. All the places we stayed in were run by local people

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I had a great time. The yoga was excellent. And Morocco is a lively and interesting place. This holiday gives you a good taster for return trips.
