All the hotels we use are locally owned and run. We also only ever use local transfer companies and also, should they be required, local surfing and kite surfing instructors. This not only benefits the surrounding community and boosts the local economy, it also ensures that our clients have a more authentic experience during their trip.
For kite surfing, our favourite area on Brazil’s north coast is a National Park and as such is an environmentally protected area. Along with the government agencies of IBAMA and SEMACE, we support the goals of the Ecocidadania Project which aims to preserve the environment and the local culture through education, recycling and reuse to reduce pollution as well as working hard to develop realistic and sustainable ecotourism.
The accommodation we use on Brazil’s north coast is one of only few hotels located right on the beach within this environmentally protected area. It is locally staffed, uses only local produce for its menus and recycles or reuses wherever possible. Likewise, our small, partner hotel in Rio is staffed entirely by locals, used fans as opposed to air conditioning and also has a strict policy for recycling. £20 from every holiday we sell goes to support a project run by Regua aimed at protecting and replanting the Atlantic rain forest in Rio state, and a Rio based NGO which provides educational courses for the community of Vidigal – one of the city´s favelas or slums.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
