All the hotels we use are locally owned and run. We also only ever use local guides. This not only benefits the surrounding community and boosts the local economy, it also ensures that our clients have a more authentic experience during their trip. Our partner lodge in the Pantanal conforms to strict guidelines governing construction and environmental protection within the Pantanal and also holds a ‘Bem Receber’ certificate from SEBRAE and EMBRATUR (the Brazilian Institute of Tourism) which are only awarded to companies who can demonstrate a commitment to sustainable ecotourism.
In addition, part of the cost of this trip goes towards supporting the lodge’s ongoing environmental monitoring and maintenance programmes. The lodge has a strict recycling policy and is also one of only a few in the Pantanal with onsite waste & water treatment. Over 90% of its staff are from the local area and have all received vocational training provided by the lodge which in turn is able to offer them a viable economic future.
As with all our holidays, our sustainable tourism policy means that all trips and tours in the itinerary are conducted in small groups of between 2 and 12 people to ensure a minimal impact on the environment. Everything that is taken on a tour is brought back and wherever possible, all waste products are recycled. We use local, expert guides whose main priority is to educate our clients and teach them about how we can protect and maintain this wonderfully diverse and beautiful area for the enjoyment of future generations. £20 from every holiday we sell goes to support a project run by Regua aimed at protecting and replanting the Atlantic rain forest in Rio state and a Rio based NGO which provides educational courses for the community of Vidigal – one of the city´s favelas.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
