There are many parts of Nepal into which the entry of foreigners is strictly controlled. Each of our Remote Treks in Nepal requires a Restricted Area Permit with each varying in price as to the remoteness of the regions. We only offer a limited amount of places for these areas of trekking to protect the ecological surroundings. All permit fees go to designated National Parks, Wildlife Reserve and Conservation Areas to improve trekking routes and trails.
Environmental groups are pressuring the government to keep some places closed for ecological reasons to avoid both cultural and environmental degradation, which we support. Before our Remote Area Treks commences our guide will brief group members on the importance of conservation in the environment as part of our responsible tourism efforts.
All our staff are from local communities and villages. Our guides are English speaking and have years of experience as they live locally, displaying a wealth of knowledge in the remote areas of Nepal. You will be made to feel like one of the family as they share with you many fascinating stories. Their insight to the local people and customs will amaze you. Each guide comes fully equipped and supported by us, having obtained the following training in the related tourism sectors including Ministry of Tourism in Nepal, High Altitude First Aid and Environmental issues for Nepal.
We choose our transportation suppliers on a rotational basis and use different ones in each area to ensure that the money we bring in is distributed evenly throughout the community. All local vehicles used for transportation are serviced frequently in addition we fully comply with Government Road Worthy standards. This ensures minimal gas emissions are lost from our vehicles, poorly maintained or malfunctioning vehicles can release as much as 10 times the emissions of a well-maintained vehicle.
We understand and appreciate the hard work the guides and porters perform. Therefore we treat and obey the following Guide & Porter Policy to ensure the conditions for our guides and porters are of a humane standard. We work towards eliminating avoidable illness, injury and death.
- All our guides and porters receive medical care when ill or injured.
- We provide basic accommodation for our guides and porters or tent with sleeping gear, and they are provided food and warm drinks.
- We have insurance policies for each of our employees.
- We provide appropriate clothing for each season and altitude, ensuring protection from cold, rain and snow. This means windproof jackets, trousers, fleece jacket, long johns, suitable footwear, socks, hat, gloves and sunglasses.
- We never overload our porters for us it’s not all about making money: we strive on being able to employ local people; we respect and treat each and every one of our employees with the up most respect.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
