Ski-mountaineering is an inherently sustainable activity and arguably the ultimate way to travel through the mountains in winter. Rather than using ski lifts and resorts, it relies on human power to journey through the mountains in an inspiring and unobtrusive way.
Our hope is that by offering ski-mountaineering holidays, we will encourage people to look beyond ski resorts and explore the undeveloped mountains of the Alps and Greater Ranges. Through such experiences, we believe that more people will come to appreciate and value the awesome wonder of wild places.
Since the beginning of our business seven years ago, we have been committed to the principles of sustainable and responsible tourism. Responsibility to the environments, the communities and economies in which we operate has always been and will continue to be at the very core of our business. Our Environment and Community Fund supports the Leroghi Mountains Conservation Fund in Kenya, Trees for Life in Scotland and Leave No Trace Progamme in Scotland.
This trip is run in partnership with a fantastic local family, native to Zermatt, who run a high-quality authentic hotel in the town. This family are passionate about Zermatt and the surrounding mountains and are active members of the community and movement to preserve the identity of Zermatt against development pressure for new holiday homes and facilities. The hotel's design is sensitive to its location and local materials feature throughout. Local produce is also a feature of the food served at the hotel.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
