We believe strongly in low impact tourism and so during this trip we use existing locally owned facilities. By using locally owned and run facilities we are helping the local communities that we visit. We reduce deforestation by avoiding unnecessary use of scarce firewood and using gas for cooking. In Djenne travellers have a chance to interact with the locals in the busy market and can contribute to the local community.
You will have an opportunity to shop for local sculptures and the unique masks that are made in this areas surrounding the bustling market in Bodo Dioulasso and enjoy an optional camel trip to a Tuareg encampment close to Timbuktu. The time we spend these regions will directly benefit the local community.
In Elmina we head to a local school where we spend half a day working on a hands on project. Depending on the skills of the group our work could range from small building/renovation projects to educational workshops.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
