The local people have been building up a great infrastructure for hikers with local food restaurant where they mainly serve fresh fish from the area fish by the local fishermen and lamb that has been living one summer wild in the deserted inlets. Local people provide all the service and their hospitality will give you a feeling of being one of the locals. The environmental policy in the fjord is very simple. We live from the nature so we treat it as our lifeline.
The local harbor at Borgarfjörður has the blue flag certification from the European union about environmental friendly harbor just how it was made and treated by the local people. Our accommodation is in new guesthouse build by the locals in wooden country style as a part of the little village. We still have people that like to have guests so the local will treat you as guests not as tourists.
The recycle police are clear to do as much as we can to recycle trash and waste we have on our tours. Our restaurants and guesthouse are working with the local community in recycle policy Agenda 21. We are very flexible and we use the weather forecast much more than the Wall street news when we make our decisions for the day. The flexibility is also about to get the best out of our days for our guests.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
