Siang River:
Only recently opened to foreigners, the remote north-eastern province of Arunachal Pradesh provides the backdrop for our 10-day expedition. And an expedition it is in every sense of the word!
Typical day on the Sinag;
- Encountering Mishmi tribals who must walk nine days to the river.
- Sampling local food like deer, mithun, rat, and rice-beer (Optional
- Savoring Indian sweets next to the shimmering Siang
We begin our descent of the Siang just inside the border with Tibet. Many villagers in this region have only seen pictures of foreigners, let alone rafts, kayaks, lifejackets, and helmets. It is not unusual to see members of the Mishmi tribe with their ornamental, feathered head-dresses carrying hatchets known as "daos". This is tribal India, and an expedition down the Siang is the only way to explore it! We値l work closely with local guides and use local transportation to and from this expedition. As always we will practice leave no trace and pack out everything we pack in.
Zanskar River Valley:
As of yet, relatively few westerners have visited the land of Zanskar, but we offer one deluxe catered expedition to and through the gorge every Himalayan summer. This journey exceeds the expectations of the world's most experienced adventure travelers. We値l have local porters and one or two local river guides on this amazing journey through northwest India.
Throughout this expedition we値l stop and take in the local communities and people. We値l interact and enjoy the hospitality in small inns as well as enjoy local dishes in the region. We hire local porters to work with us for this magnificent expedition. This expedition is about experiencing the culture of northwest India. This journey is off the beaten path and is a true adventure. We practice leave no trace so we値l pack out everything we pack in on this expedition.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
