Environment
The vehicles used on our Kangaroo Island tours are the most environmentally friendly tour vehicles used on the “Island”. Land Rover is the only 4WD manufacturer in the world who completely offsets the carbon emissions during the manufacturing process. We also change our vehicles every 2-3 years to make sure they have the most up to date emission controls. The vehicles are serviced by on the Island by local mechanics.
All of the rubbish that is created on tour is returned to base and is recycled. Seascape is solely dependant on rainwater and the waste water is recycled and used on the extensive native garden. All of the rubbish collected is recycled into 4 separate bins for removal.
Community
We have only driver guides who have lived on Kangaroo Island for more than 25 years. In fact most of our driver guides were born on Kangaroo Island. Our guides are passionate about the Island they have chosen to call home. They are also passionate about preserving it for future generations as in many cases their families have already been here for generations. They will in a relaxed and polite manner make sure that exclusion zones from wildlife are observed, that guests stay on the designated tracks and they will make sure that no litter is left whilst on tour. All of our driver/guides have the correct National Parks accreditation and because they have lived on Kangaroo Island for so long they have a depth of knowledge about the Island and an appreciation of the unique environment that just can not be learnt from a book.
All of our groceries are purchased from local suppliers and we use locally produced and made wine and many other local products.
All of the accommodation that we use is run by resident Kangaroo Islanders. Our preferred accommodation Seascape Lodge on Emu Bay was purchased by the owners of the company in 2007. The owners Paul and Mandy Brown have lived and worked on Kangaroo Island for most of their lives. Paul has been a resident for 40 years and Mandy for 30 years. They personally host at Seascape Lodge and join the guest for dinner each night making for a comfortable home like atmosphere. All of the supplies for Seascape Lodge are purchased on the “Island” and only Kangaroo Island wines are used and as much local produce as possible.

Kangaroo Island was a very pleasant surprise. We enjoyed getting down close to a very windy and wild Southern Ocean, and walking on the beach at Sea Bay up close with the sea lions was a real highlight. But then again so was watching Koalas in the trees, and a walk out to the Remarkable rocks (these really are pretty remarkable when you get up close - the hardest granite you could possibly imagine smoothed like butter into strange shape over millions of years by the wind).
added enormously to our enjoyment tour - make sure you make a special request for Pete to be your guide! We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
