Small group adventure holiday
Typically you will be sharing your experiences with between 4-20 like minded travellers (depending on the trip, operator and how many others are booked on the trip) and you'll have a group leader with you. Whether you are travelling alone or with friends its good value, and a great way to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of privacy. This trip will appeal to travellers of all ages who enjoy meeting new people as well as seeing new places.

For every passenger trip week that we operate in Africa, we plant a tree in Kenya through our support of the Woodlands 2000 trust, a local NGO. We also offer you a chance to climate balance your international flights by making a payment to C-Level, who in turn finance certified reforestation projects in Uganda. We already carbon compensate our office activities through C-Level, working with them to audit, then minimise waste, and finally to carbon compensate for the energy we do use.

We have always felt that Africans are better placed to show you Africa than we are! It is our policy to employ local guides for the duration of your trip. We purchase food in local so that money is well distributed within the regions we visit during the trip.

This company started in 1989 with a passion to get travellers off the beaten track. It was started by best friends who wanted to develop a style of travel that was all together different; wanting travellers to become a part of a country - and not just tourists looking in. Wanting them to have fun, meet people, learn things, explore, and do stuff they could never do at home, to travel by anything and everything, and stay anywhere and everywhere! Fast forward two decades and they now travel to more than 110 countries and offers over 800 itineraries however their philosophy on travel is unchanged. 1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?


There are several:
1. Serengeti - the landscape and animals
2. Zanzibar - a good mix with Stonetown and the beach
3. Meeting the people in Malawi and Zimbabwe
4. Meeting Ian Harmer from African Wanderer.com in Zimbabwe and getting close to rhinos
5. Seeing Victoria Falls

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?


Definitely bring a water bottle and also a flask/thermos style mug (with lid) for making an extra tea and coffee at breakfast to take with you when spending hours in the bus. Also be prepared for lots of early mornings and understanding that for a considerable part of the trip you will be putting up and taking down tents in the dark due to the distances needed to be covered.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?


Yes all on the above.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?


Overall it was very good but I would not call it a holiday in the usual sense of the word. It was more of an adventure/experience.
