Community
For twenty years our philosophy has been to take small numbers of sympathetic, like-minded people to areas of unspoilt natural beauty, thereby demonstrating to the local population the economic advantages of preserving their natural heritage rather than destroying it for short-term gain.
Both Warili Lodge and Kumul Lodge are owned and operated by the local communities thereby empowering them to protect and preserve their culture whilst providing visitors with a genuine insight into their traditional way of life. On this Papua New Guinea tour, visitors are guided by local community members who through tourism have gained jobs and developed their English language skills, which would not normally be attainable.
Environment
Seventy per cent of all coral species in the Indo/Pacific region are found in the waters surrounding Walindi Plantation Resort. The lodge is committed to supporting the unique ecology of the area and as such was the main driving force behind the Mahonia Na Dari "Guardians of the Sea" Conservation and Research Centre, and one of the lodge owners sits on the board of the centre. Located in the grounds of the lodge, the Mahonia Na Dari is a co-operative effort between The Nature Conservancy, the European Union Islands Regional Environmental Program and Walindi Plantation Resort whose mission is to understand and conserve the natural environments of Kimbe Bay and Papua New Guinea for the benefit of present and future generations.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
