Environment
The home stays in Ladakh where we make our clients comfortable while at Ladakh, have been developed with the prime motive of preserving the environment and the cultural integrity of the local community. In order to create a healthier environment and to enhance the greenery of the region, villagers have planted willows in some of the areas of Ladakh. These beautiful well equipped and comfortable homes are built to be completely eco friendly and in harmony with nature. The traditional extremely hygienic dry compost toilets are used in these home stays to make it that much more eco friendly. The home stays enjoy heated showers from the community’s solar heater. The local delicacy butter tea and warm blankets are also available to keep you away from the chill.
The Home stays prepare food mostly from their own plantations or gardens which are organic and there are no harmful chemicals used in growing these which help prevent harmful chemicals being released in the atmosphere. In cases of rural home stays at places like Spiti the earnings from Home stays get deposited in a communal fund which is used for compensating the loss of animal stock caused by endangered species like snow leopards, thereby avoiding the community people from hunting animals from such species.
Community
A primary aspect that we try to achieve in all our tour trips is to lessen the negative impacts of tourism and instead positively better the lives and environment of the locals by encouraging their employment and contributing a great deal towards their betterment. While on this trip to Ladakh, we employ the services of local guides, hire local the transportation facilities and also reside at the local accommodation that are available in plenty for visitors to Ladakh. We make sure, we generously pay these locals to ensure that they are also kept satisfied and happy, while our clients not only gain an up close insight into the local culture but also get the satisfaction that a part of their money stays in the local community for their betterment. By employing these local guides and being generous with our pay towards the locals make them more hospitable towards our clients treating them as welcome guests .
