UK office
It all starts at home so we have first worked to reduce our carbon footprint in our UK offices. Through energy conservation measures and recycling policies in place, we are proud to be actively reducing the waste produced and our impact on the environment. We support various projects all over the world to try and give something back to the places we visit.
Leaders & local suppliers
We have an excellent long-term relationship with the local operator, John Howie. Running the accommodation, with the help of his wife and some staff, John leads all the weeks. They try to use as much fresh local produce as possible to create the delicious meals served at La Feniere. Local cafes, restaurants and mountain huts are visited for snack and drink breaks throughout the week, thus benefitting the local community.
Group size
We operate small group tours that have a low impact on the communities we visit and we always ensure our operations do not disrupt or lead to the displacement of local people. This allows us to stay in unique and characterful accommodation that would not have benefitted from tourism due to their limited size.
Activity
Our trips have minimal environmental impact, particularly as you will be providing much of the power yourself! When cycling off road our leaders brief groups on how to ride responsibly and all routes follow developed trails to reduce erosion. Many trips venture into remote locations rarely visited by tourists, helping to support and develop traditional communities.
The product manager who put together the cycling holidays for this company was a true pioneer - he cycled all 7 continents, including virtually all of Australia, and obtained special permission to traverse the Antarctica. His enthusiasm was infectious; there are now more cycling racks at this company’s office than car parking spaces. Your guides won’t follow stringent itineraries thus offering you greater flexibility. If you’re on a bicycle you can escape the crowds, access remote areas, and get closer to the country you’re in as opposed to seeing it from behind the windows of a sealed coach.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
