How this holiday makes a difference

All our wildlife lodges used in this itinerary, employ people from the surrounding villages. Local naturalists are preferred as their understanding of the regions flora, fauna and local culture is invaluable and helps provide guests with a richer experience. Supporting them also helps engender pride amongst locals for the natural world around them and encourages employment in eco tourism and wildlife conservation.

Collectively, the lodges work together with organisations such as TOFT (Tour Operators for Tigers) as well as additional NGO’s, the state forest department, conservation bodies and local villages to help manage human-wildlife conflicts and conservation. Key to this, is effective communication with local people and education as well as harnessing local knowledge to help address wildlife issues.

Many of the lodges use more eco-friendly materials in their buildings, for example; bamboo, thatch and Jute, as opposed to cement. They all conserve water and recycle as much as they possibly can, and where possible use paper and Jute as an alternative to plastic.

We also encourage guests who are happy to tip well, thereby ensuring valuable income goes straight into communities as well as supporting good wildlife guides and good guiding practises.

Accommodation is constructed along eco friendly guidelines, utilising locally sourced materials wherever possible. Eco sensitive waste disposal systems are also in place at the wildlife lodges used and produce from the immediate locale and surrounding farms is served on the menus, supporting the local economy.

We advise our guests accordingly:

- No Smoking.
- Do not feed animals.
- Be as quiet as possible (no talking loudly).
- Do not litter inside the park.
- Avoid using perfumes / cologne inside the park.
- Avoid wearing bright coloured clothes inside the park.
- Do not use flash while taking pictures of animals close to you.
- Take only photographs, leave only footprints.
- Do not get down from the vehicle unless told by the guide / driver
