The huge expansion of the ski resorts since the 1970s has had numerous effects on the mountain landscape, such as diminishing water levels of lakes and streams and damaging mountain wildlife through the destruction of habitat, noise and pollution. We believe strongly in responsible tourism. We live and work in this environment and we take our role in its care seriously.
we run our chalets as environmentally friendly as possible. Our reuse and recycle policy makes sure nothing is wasted. Being located only 400m away from the Prodains lift reduces those unnecessary transfers needed to take guests to and from the slopes and the use of shared airport transfers reduces our carbon footprint further. Don’t worry about having to watch every step you make though as our staff are on hand to switch off that light you left on or turn the heating off when not required.
Believe it or not 30,000 cigarette stubs were found under one lift last year effecting the natural habitat around it. The wildlife and flora are what make these landscapes so unique and breath-taking which is why we make every effort to sustain this for future generations.
We don’t forget how much pollution is emitted in just getting to Morzine. That’s why we promote companies like easy jet who offer clients a chance to offset their CO2 emissions by charging a little more.
Community
We actively support ‘respect the mountain’. This is an organisation set up by the Ski Club of Great Britain who work to 'keep our playground clean' .
A great incentive for us to set up in Morzine was their approach to a car free zone. We, with the help of the local council promote the use of the very user friendly Park and Ride schemes to get in and out of town.
We stay in resort as much as possible. Local produce, local guides, local everything! Morzine with its surrounding towns provides all that is needed to provide the very best service for our clients. The produce is fresh purchased from the local markets of Tanninges and the guides are knowledgeable. We suggest great French restaurants to our clients who always come back full to the brim. It is not just about skiing but immersing oneself in local culture. We help you achieve all this, taking those small steps which make such a big difference.
