As each day passed it became my favourite day so far! The Inca Trail of course and the island home stay have to be my top two. The holiday was made all the more memorable because of the great group we were travelling with and of course our guide Dante.

(more)The husky sledging was amazing and we also got to see the northern lights we did something nearly everyday and enjoyed every minute, went to the ice hotel you can't really explain in words how pretty the scenery is you have to go and see it to believe it. There were several highlights. The Golden Temple at Amritsar, Jairpur's Amber Fort & Palace, the backwaters of Kerala and our homestay in the Nilgiri Hills. (more)We saw monkeys in the hotel grouse, sloth and of course the scarlet macaws. We had never been to a rainforest before and could not believe how green it was. All the places we stayed at were interesting and different. (more)
Fabulous 10 out of 10...the best part was sailing down the Mekong River from Northern Thailand to Luang Prabang.

Our trip to the northeast was one of the best bits (I was honoured to be invited to join the other giggling grannies on the floor of the Tay house - if only I was as limber as they are!). (more)Trinidad was an amazing city and really touched our hearts, but having a car and the freedom to explore, and being able to see the real Cuba was the best thing we did. (more)The highlights were coming across a flock of Sri Lanka Blue Magpies feeding noisily in the Sinharaja Rain Forest and seeing the nesting Painted Storks with chicks in Yala National Park. The place is run by a very effective team of professionals, who go every day over the top to make their guests feel special and very well looked after. (more)The ethnic markets, the train trips, the hotels and staff, our guides, the high quality, safe, late model 4 wheel drives and excellent drivers (since we went on some steep and slippery roads), meeting local people and seeing the beautiful country, people and amazing Hanoi were all memorable. Most memorable bit - spending Christmas Day exploring the waterways of the rainforests of Tortuguero in a small boat, seeing monkeys swinging through the trees, otters, caiman, iguana, toucans, parrots and countless other birds.

We loved every aspect of this accommdation... We dream of returning soon. My daughter and I rank this accommodation as our best holiday ever. (more)...we were blown away by the Iguazu Falls which were just amazing! Also spending my birthday on a schooner, with bubbly and cake provided by the operator, was a lovely surprise, and I felt very spoilt!

We really enjoyed the extra time they took to show us some of the things off the beaten path and some real Egyptian food and sheesha. The Valley of the Kings was our most favourite site.
