Tiger watching holiday in India
Seeing a tiger in the wild was simply amazing, but another heart stopping experience happened a few days later. While having an outdoor supper at the hotel, a tiger nearby started calling. 100%. Exactly what we as a family of three generations, age range from almost 3 to 71, were looking for. The freedom to wander their land, pick oranges, lemons and apricots. There were many exciting wildlife sightings but the most memorable part of the holiday was being with Mark, the project leader, who was highly knowledgeable about the natural world as well as organising a varied and interesting programme. Memorable parts? Getting to spend time walking through the jungle and seeing so many great animals and birds. The best moments were the tree frogs, manu poison frog and the rainbow boa! I really enjoyed the construction of the bird hides and biogarden even though sometimes it was really hard work! Pancakes for breakfast were great! Tips? Memorable parts? Arriving in the village - the warmth of the welcome, the pleasure of staying in a manyatta (mud hut). Also the activities are wonderful - walks amongst the zebra, milking cows, firing bows and arrows, lighting fires. Really good fun!! Tips? I went for 4 nights - 2 in the camp and 2 in the village. Memorable parts? I can't name that one and only moment I have to say. The whole experience was memorable. Not only the work but also the people I had the pleasure to meet. Tips? I was camping the first time in my life and did some research beforehand. However I did of course made a few mistakes.
