Bhutan walking holiday
The scenery was overwhelming, giving the feeling of being on top of the world. The forested mountains seemed to go on forever. The highlight had to be the hike up to the Tiger's Nest, an amazing experience. (more)Patricia Lawrence
Climbing up to the Tiger's Nest on our last full day in Bhutan WAS pretty great - but I think my prize goes to seeing big pink orchids growing on the side of the road - and having the leisure to go photograph them, thanks to our wonderful driver. (more)Julie Puttgen

Memorable parts? Seeing a tiger when on foot in Bardia - only 30m away! There are to many wonderful memories to mention them all. Bhutan was absolutely wonderful. If you are able to cope with walking long distances, eco- accommodation, repetitive & basic food, lack of electricity, heating, and all other amenities then this is the type of holiday for you. Memorable parts? Lots. The friendly people who seemed enjoyed to have their photo's taken. The scenery, the hundreds of prayer flags. As we trekked at high altitude, the many people we met driving horses, cows & yaks. But the best experience was caused by a mistake. On one night of the trek we lost our horses & luggage!
