China tours, Beijing to Hong Kong
Memorable parts? One evening after a show we needed to get a snack, our CEO was going to get noodles an she let us join her we sat in the street with local people and enjoyed a supper of noodles. The local children tried to speak English and the adults were very friendly it was a lovely atmosphere. Tips? If they are travelling in summer they need to understand how exceptionally hot it will be, thy will need enough thin clothing to have two outfits a day and they will need lots of... Nepal extreme activity holiday
Brilliant!! The most memorable part has to have been rafting the G4 rapids on the Bhote Koshi with thunder and lightning, rain bouncing off the water and 1.5cm hailstones falling from the sky, still all in 27 degrees heat, wow amazing! (more)Neil Whittemore
I had a brilliant time on this holiday and it fulfilled most of what I wanted to get out of the trip. (more)Murray Hendriksen

Quito to La Paz overland tour
Memorable parts? Trekking the Inca trail was fantastic, it exceeded all my expectations. The porters were superhuman and the tour leaders superb. It is the best experience I have had so far. Tips? Listen to the safety tips of your tour leaders regarding valuables. Things did go missing on public transport with some of my travelling buddies. Local benefits? We visited local communities and bought direct from them. Stayed with families to experience their daily life. Overall... (more)Yuetmui Chung

Memorable parts? Inca Trail! Making it and seeing Machu Picchu. Tips? Bring clothing for a variety of weather. Be prepared for early mornings, the possibility of altitude sickness... The more in shape you are, the more you will get out of the trip as well! Local benefits? Yes, I think the homestays were great, and the trip encompassed ecotourism, especially in the Amazon. Overall rating? Great. (more)Rachel Carbonell

Bolivia adventure holiday
Memorable parts? Visiting the salt flats - they were beautiful, and totally original. A real experience! Tips? Insist that your tour leader comes with you on the 3 day tour of the Uyuni 4x4 tour - the drivers are completely irresponsible (drinking beer at breakfast, driving dangerously, driving the vehicles when they are not roadworthy), and rude (not listening to the group's concerns regarding the above, and threatening to leave people stranded in the middle of the tour), that it... Memorable parts? I enjoyed so many things about my holiday, I had a truly fantastic time but if I had to choose I would say the hill-tribe trek, that was a great experience for many reasons, I especially loved seeing the tribes & the breath-taking landscape it was unbelievable I thought, a special experience. Tips? To travel as lightly as possible during the hill-tribe trek as it can be rather demanding especially the first day & make sure you have the correct footwear. Be prepared... (more)Gary Remekie

Cape Town to Victoria Falls camping safari
Memorable parts? Every day was a different wonder but the two days wild camping at the Okavanga Delta were really special. Tips? Be prepared for very early starts and not much relaxing times. Local benefits? Yes, local guides were used in a number of locations but obviously driving such long distances is not exactly environmentally friendly. Overall rating? Excellent. Costa Rica multisport holiday
Memorable parts? The time spent in the jungle rafting down the river, staying in jungle lodges and trekking to nearby waterfalls. Tips? Don't book the extra adrenaline pack before you go. It's better to pick and choose your activities when you're there. Local benefits? Local transport was occasionally used and the sharing of rooms reduced the environmental impact Overall rating? Really enjoyable and a good variety of activities. Not too much travelling as well (more)James Mead

Indochina small group overland tour
Memorable parts? Gosh! All of it! It was an amazing 40 day adventure but I particularly enjoyed watching the sun rise over Angkor Wat in Cambodia, kayaking around Halong Bay in Vietnam and the stunning scenery of Laos and in particular watching the sun set over the Mekong River in Luang Prabang. Tips? We were constantly on the move, which was very exhausting and at the end of the Vietnam trip (the 40 day Indochina adventure was actually 3 separate tours which I did not realise and... California, Nevada and Arizona holiday
Memorable parts? The time spent in Monument Valley was probably the most memorable for me, despite the (lack of) facilities for our overnight camping. Also quiet times in Arches National Park and an early morning walk by myself along the rim of the Grand Canyon. I loved being with the group, but having personal space sometimes is important for me. Memories of my fellow travellers will last. We had fun. Tips? Be prepared for anything, go with the flow as far as you can and know there... (more)Lesley Hale

The Great Wall was the most memorable part. None of the pictures really do it justice, the views are amazing. We went about 60KM away from Beijing and set off early. It was really worth it as it was not crowded at all and we almost had the Wall to ourselves. (more)Darren Grubb

Overland tour to South America, Andes to the Amazon
Memorable parts? Hiking on a glacier, coming face to face with penguins in Punta Tomba, canyoning down a 40 metre waterfall, meeting all my new friends Tips? We had a great time, and made 21 new friends... but it is quite intense being with other people for such a long time... bring earplugs and ipod and a very very warm sleeping bag. Local benefits? Yes, we always took our rubbish with us, and were careful not to make a mess. Overall rating? Had an amazing time,... (more)Caroline Eccles

Lombok & Bali holiday
Memorable parts? WOW! So many different experiences and so many wonderful people. Climbing Mt Batur at 4am to see the sun rise was a major highlight and swimming in the cool clear waterfall in Lombok. Tips? You need to be relatively fit, however, there is not pressure to participate in any of the activities. Accommodation and transport are very basic but add to the whole experience. Take ear plugs! Local benefits? The bus transport gave of a few fumes...but generally we when... (more)Tracey Lawrence

Rajasthan desert adventure
Memorable parts? All visits to Rajastani palaces, forts and havelis were a fantastic experience, especially since the city guides were really good and very excited to tell us all about it. The Taj Mahal is certainly a highlight, but my top experience was visiting the living and breathing city within the walls of Jaisalmer fort. Other highlights for me included the miniature painting school in Udaipur, the carpet and block printing workshop in Jaipur, the observatory in Jaipur and the makrana... (more)Monica Filkova

Central America overland tour
Memorable parts? Roatan, one of the bay Islands of Honduras, was beautiful and the diving was fantastic, and I'll probably never forget the chicken buses! Tips? If you're used to travelling independently then be prepared to find the lack of freedom quite restricting, however it is great not to have to worry about transport and accommodation! Local benefits? I feel that it benefitted local people as wherever possible we patronised local businesses and shops, and as far as is... (more)Victoria Baynes

Sailing holiday in Greece, Mykonos to Santorini
Memorable parts? Great scenery and views, superb to see the coast from a boat. Tips? Be aware that although a sailing trip, there is not much sailing. Local benefits? No. We motored a lot rather than sailing (due to time constraints and being able to get to places to do things). Overall rating? Very good although I was disappointed that there wasn't much sailing. But great way to see the Amalfi coast. I don't think I would do the same trip again or a similar one. (more)Karen Fenton
