Belize wildlife conservation holiday
It was a very positive experience being in a country that treasures the natural environment and it is government policy to protect at least 40% of the land for nature. I felt that after 3 weeks I had only scratched the surface of what there is to find out about Belize and definitely plan on returning. (more)Cathy Bisset
Once in a life time experience...meeting all the wild animals was the most exciting part of the trip. (more)Kerry Sedman

Mexico small group holiday, a food adventure
Memorable parts? This was a food trip, and the food was fantastic. Our great guide, Fernando, took us to street food, markets, and restaurants--more than I expected. The cities of Puebla and Oaxaca are beautiful. For me high points were the markets and Monte Alban. Tips? 1) Check the exact date you are going. We happened to be on the one trip that started at a different hotel, and there was confusion. 2) Now there is an overnight bus from Oaxaca to Zipolite (apparently soon... (more)Nancy McCormick

Memorable parts? I enjoyed every moment of my stay but being taught to dance Bachata by my host family would have to be the highlight. Tips? If possible, ask to be placed at Dona Leila's house. Costa Rica eco lodge in a private reserve
Incredible - the lodge and its views over the mountains and forest were breathtaking and we had the most relaxing time. We will definitely be staying at the lodge again if we are ever back in Costa Rica. (more)Elfie Burgess
They create all their own electricity with a small hydro-turbine... virtually ALL the work done on this coffee plantation is by the owners and locals. They have many LONG TERM employees because they treat them very well, from what I saw and understood. They are also re-foresting pasture land. Most of everything we ate was grown there except a few things they get from local farmers. (more)Korte Yeo
A fabulous situation , beautiful rooms, great service all round... We spent two weeks there and enjoyed every moment .Great thanks to the owners and their parents. (more)patrick heffron

Wildlife holiday in Costa Rica
Memorable parts? Seeing magnificent rainforest from high bridges on flanks of a volcano, seeing a turtle laying her eggs, giving bottle of milk to young spider, howler and capuchin monkeys at a rescue centre. Tips? Costa Rica multisport holiday
Memorable parts? The time spent in the jungle rafting down the river, staying in jungle lodges and trekking to nearby waterfalls. Tips? Don't book the extra adrenaline pack before you go. It's better to pick and choose your activities when you're there. Local benefits? Local transport was occasionally used and the sharing of rooms reduced the environmental impact Overall rating? Really enjoyable and a good variety of activities. Not too much travelling as well (more)James Mead

Lots of very memorable moments, but the best was finding a family of sloths at Playa Punta Uva on the Caribbean Coast who were so close we could have touched them. (more)Janet Sutherland
Fantastic! Our time at El Remanso lodge in the Osa Penninsla it was a super place and had some wonderful wildlife sightings there. (more)Jane Fowles
On an early morning bird-watching trail with a local guide, we were lucky enough to see 5 of these beautiful birds... feeding on wild avocados. We sat for an hour as the sun began to rise, driving away the cold night air as the clouds rolled up the forested mountain side. Quite amazing. (more)Paul Smith

Amazing. A learning experience that was exciting and fun every day. (more)Sarah Lewis
Fantastic holiday and a slice of paradise! Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! (more)Charles Czajkowski
I think the most memorable for the adults was staying on the Osa Peninsula which was perfect in every imaginable way for us. The kids liked that too but would say that learning to surf in Uvita or white-water rafting were most memorable. (more)Anne Tutt

Belize marine conservation internship
Memorable parts? 1. Snorkeling with the whale sharks. 2. Good diving instruction to next level of qualification. 3. Chance to do conservation surveys as something more than that which you usually do on a regular dive holiday. 4. chance to dive in Caribbean at dive sites that are not crowded, never were there other dive boats at the sites we dived, thus only 4 to 8 divers at the site from the boat. Tips? 1. To the extent your baggage allowance allows it, take items identified including... (more)Simon Timms

Mexico small group holiday, culture & beach
Memorable parts? The hubbub of Mexico City and all the sights and museums within (we could only sample a few, regretfully!); and the laid back charm of San Cristobal with its streets, processions and central plaza activities. Tips? - Be ready for temperature variations - from cold/nippy to warm/hot! - For vegetarians, be ready for limited eating options; - for those who haven't had Mescal in the past, don't be worried - it tastes great, as do the salted and fried crickets served... (more)CK Sharma

Mexico, Belize & Guatemala tour, Mayan encounter
Memorable parts? Snorkelling in a coral reef amongst nurse sharks and other amazing sea life was an experience that we will never forget. Tips? In spite of being by far the oldest couple in the group, we had a thoroughly amazing holiday with an excellent tour leader. Try to pack light. Local benefits? Yes, particularly the homestay which provides an alternate income for families trapped in povery. Overall rating? Excellent. (more)Helen Hore

Central America tour on a shoestring
Memorable parts? Roatan, one of the bay Islands of Honduras, was beautiful and the diving was fantastic, and I'll probably never forget the chicken buses! Tips? If you're used to travelling independently then be prepared to find the lack of freedom quite restricting, however it is great not to have to worry about transport and accommodation! Local benefits? I feel that it benefitted local people as wherever possible we patronised local businesses and shops, and as far as is... (more)Victoria Baynes

The most exciting part of the Costa Rica encompassed trip was zip lining above the trees in Monteverde Cloud Forest and abseiling down the waterfalls on a canyoneering trip outside La Fortuna. (more)Louise Muller
Definitely white water rafting on the way from Cahuita to San Jose was the highlight. A great day out, the river was perfect. Lots of adrenaline and lovely refreshing water. An amazing lunch was laid on for us as well by the side of the river. (more)Elaine Bettaney
The most memorable part was going into the beautiful clear, turquoise and remarkably warm water of the Pacific ocean, for a swim just as the sun was setting - an amazing way to start the holiday. (more)Susie Everest
From £963 - £1069 excluding flights
Costa Rica tailor made holiday, highlights
Memorable parts? The stay at Cerro Escondido. It was not touristy, the hike there was great, and the managers were very welcoming. A beautiful, peaceful spot, off the beaten track. Tips? If you go to Tortuguero, go for as good a lodge as you can afford. We felt our guide was not as good as the one from the other lodge. Don't just stick to the well known bits, get off the beaten track a bit to experience the real Costa Rica. Local benefits? Yes! Most guides were local,... (more)Yvonne Chapman
