Villa holiday in Crete, Greece
Memorable parts? I went on holidays with my 96-year-old mother, which is memorable in itself... At the last minute she had some health problems so it seemed we had to cancel the holiday but she was so keen to go! And we had a great time. Tips? Get a car to go around, the place is unreachable otherwise and not easy to find if not with very clear directions; by night almost impossible. Local benefits? The environmental impact is definitely low, no air-conditioning and solar... (more)Laura Palmucci

Crete cooking holiday in Greece
Memorable parts? I've enjoyed the Cretan cooking week so much, I've learnt how to prepare some of the delicious Cretan dishes, but mostly I won't forget the warmth and friendship I experienced from my host and lovely instructor/cook. This was definitely a memorable trip that I will carry in my heart for years to come. Tips? Go with an open heart and mind to experience the tastes and smells of the place and to meet the locals who are kind and warm, you definitely will end up with new... (more)Asma Abu Taleb

Memorable parts? The drive to Panokosmos, once we had left the main autoroute was exciting. The road wound up into the hills and the last 200 yards the road was narrow and hair- raising but what a fantastic place to reach - brilliant hill top home with the most fantastic views. Looking out over the mountains and valleys each morning never ceased to impress us. Panokosmos is a place to escape to - to relax in and just 'unhook' yourself from the daily madness that could well be your daily existence.... (more)flis hughes

Find out more about Crete by reading these articles.

Famed for its white-washed cottages set against herb-covered mountains, azure waters, and most importantly sandy beaches, few tourists to Crete realise that they may be contributing to the destruction of the very thing they’ve come to see. Little do they know that when they book their package to a beach resort, they may be supporting one of the major contributing factors to the demise of the Mediterranean Loggerhead sea turtle, which has its major nesting areas in the world on Greece’s beaches.
