Crete holidays. Tours & holidays in 2016 & 2017

Friendly and spirited, Crete holidays distil Greece into one sun-baked island. The scenery blends hills carpeted with olive groves and vineyards with dramatic mountains split by epic clefts like the Samaria Gorge, and sublime beaches backed by welcoming tavernas. Add a panoply of history from the majestic ancient Minoan Palace of Knossos to memories of Venetian, Byzantine, Moorish and Ottoman settlers once drawn here too.

Rural Crete holiday villa, Greece
Memorable parts? The drive to Panokosmos, once we had left the main autoroute was exciting. The road wound up into the hills and the last 200 yards the road was narrow and hair- raising but what a fantastic place to reach - brilliant hill top home with the most fantastic views. Looking out over the mountains and valleys each morning never ceased to impress us. Panokosmos is a place to escape to - to relax in and just 'unhook' yourself from the daily madness that could well be your daily existence.... (more)flis hughes

Famed for its white-washed cottages set against herb-covered mountains, azure waters, and most importantly sandy beaches, few tourists to Crete realise that they may be contributing to the destruction of the very thing they’ve come to see. Little do they know that when they book their package to a beach resort, they may be supporting one of the major contributing factors to the demise of the Mediterranean Loggerhead sea turtle, which has its major nesting areas in the world on Greece’s beaches.
