Croatia activity holiday for families
Great. We had a wonderful time. Beautiful places, friendly people, lots of variety and great food...the highlight for us was the trip to a farm one evening whilst staying on one of the islands, where we ate lots of fantastic local food, sampled homemade spirits and had a bit of a sing-song. (more)Naomi Foster
Amazing. Definitely recommend it....White water rafting was amazing. So scary but loads of fun. The guides were all brilliant, very knowledgable and funny. (more)Jennifer Kewley
Excellent. We have visited Croatia and done activity weeks before but this was the best yet - a great blend of different (more)Alan macdonald

Family sea kayaking holiday in Croatia
Wonderful...Swimming in the sea caves, the farmhouse dinner...So many happy meals. The silence of kayaking even in a group. Discovering footpaths leading to beautiful rocky places to swim...Too many good memories to have only one favourite! (more)Alison Acton
It was brilliant. The 3 other families in our group were great fun. The guides were really good and worked very hard to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. The island of Lopud is idyllic. We will certainly be back! (more)Hannah Whibley
Most memorable? The peaceful islands, the warm, clear waters and the relaxed approach... Absolutely fantastic, I only wish it could have lasted longer. I really could not fault the operator. (more)Kate Holloway

Croatia family activity week
Excellent! The best parts were actively exploring the Island of Vis, on bikes, kayaks and foot. Beautiful place, beautiful people. (more)Diane Johnson
Our kids, aged 5 and 11 had a terrific time and really loved the activities as well as mucking about in the sea, snorkelling and swimming...Great! "Fantastic, awesome, really good!" (comments from the kids). (more)Diana Lloyd
Brilliant perfect mixture of exercise and relaxation and no pressure to do anything you didn’t want to, and catered for all ages (in our case 4-31). (more)Amanda Wagg

Dubrovnik & islands walking holiday, Croatia
The most memorable part was the beauty of Dalmatia... It was fantastic. The guides (my main guide was Irena) were charming, patient, organized, and knowledgeable. (more)Riley Hart
The views of Dubrovnik from the top of Mnt Srj on a perfect day were spectacular...A very professional and supportive company to deal with. The trip notes provided were very accurate and everything went according to plan and more than lived up to our expectations. (more)Joy Field

Multi activity holiday in Croatia
Fantastic! Beautiful country, very peaceful and relaxed but adventurous. Our guides were excellent, informative and relaxed. The whole experience was great. We really enjoyed the activities everyday - rafting, especially - it was beautiful and thrilling! We also enjoyed that we had plenty of downtime during the evening, to relax and soak up the village life. (more)Emma Buckland
Wonderful!...We stayed in a rural hotel and so hope that this provided local jobs in this lovely location, soon to be a conservation area (more)Mary Purton
5 Star. Croatia was wonderful and the tour guides really looked after us.... The best bit? The walk to and climb up Gromavaca (1,675m). I think it is the highest peak I have climbed and the view from the top fantastic. To the west was the Adriatic, with its parched rugged coastline, to the north, south and east back into Croatia with the white limestone mountains and dark green forests. (more)Michael Hasnip

Sea kayaking in Croatia
I loved almost everything! We had booked the sea-kayaking trip and were upgraded to the catamaran sailing trip for 5 of the 7 days, which was fantastic! I enjoyed seeing the different islands while sailing, biking and kayaking, as well as all the meals the guides organised for us at local people's houses. (more)Astryd Letrud
Exciting: Kayaking in beautiful crystal clear waters and seeing the islands from a whole different perspective. Memorable: enjoying fantastic home-cooked food every night with a friendly international group. (more)Mandy Hetherton
Most memorable was kayaking around Kolocep Island and visiting the luminous Blue Cave half way around the island, which we could only swim into and out of. (more)Rosie Tanner

Dubrovnik villa holidays, Croatia
Memorable parts? The Views from the Villa are stunning! Tips? Not suitable for people who find it difficult to walk up steep hills. The set meal (3 courses with wine) at the Konoba Asterea- Mlini for 85 kuna is extremely good value and well worth the trek up the hill. Local benefits? It definitely benefited local people, as the owner moves out of her home for 4 months of the year in order to repay her mortgage on the Villa. As for the environmental impact, I find it difficult... Beach hotel in Croatia
Memorable parts? Ljubo and his father, owners of the accommodation, made our eight day stay a most happy one. They were most welcoming and helpful, providing for our every need. The pansion is clean and the room we stayed in was comfortable with a lovely view out over the bay. Ljubo provided us with great breakfasts with fruit from his own farm. Loviste is a lovely small town of only 200 inhabitants. Tips? We hired a car from Dubrovnik airport, but used it only occasionally,... (more)Caroline Brookes

Stone house retreat in Croatia
Never before have I been on a holiday where I was made so welcome and my every need was catered for. Shirley and Nigel are wonderful hosts - the exact amount of care and attention but without intruding on my peace and relaxation. (more)June Weston
Most memorable? The Istrian night - a chance to sample some locally produced and prepared food at the neighbours house. We also enjoyed visiting the nearby hilltop towns, especially Groznjan. (more)Dave Horley
My holiday was much much more than I could ever have expected. I was promised a retreat in Croatia and I got a paradise of calm, rest and healing. (more)Freda Newlands

Klek self catering accommodation in Croatia
Memorable parts? Absolutely beautiful location. Clear warm seas and two nice beaches. The accommodation was very comfortable and really accessible to the waterfront and beach. It had three terraces two at the front upper and lower lever and one at the back which was shared with the other four houses and with a very nice garden where the children could feed the tortoises. The rear area had a larger area for eating with barbeque. The different situations of the terraces meant that you had shade... (more)Anne O'Brien

Croatia Holidays and Croatia Tours

Croatia is located in South-eastern Europe between Bosnia and Slovenia, and bordering the Adriatic Sea. Famous for its turquoise Adriatic Coast boasting over 100 blue flag beaches, picturesque towns, historic harbours, stunning mountain ranges and no less than 6 Unesco World heritage Sites, holidays in Croatia are a popular choice. You can plan your Croatia holiday any time of year as the Mediterranean climate ensures long lazy days on the beach and fairly mild winters when the mountain peaks are topped with snow, making your Croatia holiday just as beautiful in winter as during summer. There is a wonderful wide range of trips to Croatia that celebrate the rich diversity of the country’s terrain, from the vast plains, lakes and rolling hills, to the densely wooded mountains and rocky coastlines, providing you with enough to see for one week, two weeks or a two month holiday. If you choose to tour Croatia you may find yourself sailing around the 1,000 or so small islands, wandering the ancient villages lined with whitewashed buildings and tiled terracotta roofs, or exploring Plitvice Lakes National Park, composed of 19.5 hectares of woods, and 16 stunning turquoise lakes that spill over into waterfalls and bubbling streams. Croatia is also a country full of history and culture, with the Museum of Arts and Crafts to be found in the capital Zagreb, the old walled town of Dubrovnik and the modern yet traditional Split with its stunning harbour and marina, these are all popular choices of Croatia holidays. Trips to Croatia may involve just taking time out to sun yourself on the Adriatic islands, as well as enjoying the more active Croatia tours available such as cycling, sea kayaking, hiking, and multi-sport adventure. Short tours in Croatia are available; from one week healing and meditation tours to one week jam packed activity tours. Alternatively spend a bit more time getting to know the country and mix nature with culture on a Croatia tour for two weeks from Dubrovnik to Zagreb. With the country's endless remote islands, deserted beaches, and rural scenery, there are also a number of options to have your honeymoon in Croatia, from idyllic mountain retreats to island sail cruises. There is a Croatia honeymoon to suit every budget you can stay in luxurious hotels or typical Dalmatian villas. So whether it is a honeymoon in Croatia, a family trip to Croatia or an adventure tour of Croatia, it is certainly a destination which offers something for everyone.

Family Holidays in Croatia

There are a number of amazing family holidays in Croatia available from beach to mountainside to historic town, or any combination of the three. You can enjoy the perfect family trip to Croatia, with the scenic rocky coastline comprised of hundreds of islands, the beautiful mountainous interior, or the picturesque historical towns. The popularity of Croatia family holidays is also due to the climate as this area of Southern Europe is one of the sunniest. Whichever region you pick to visit, there are always child friendly options and great Croatia family holiday ideas, from a quiet fishing village or a medieval town, an adventure holiday in the Plitvice Lake National Park, or a holiday park next to the beach offering an opportunity to go sea kayaking and sailing.

Adventure Holidays and Adventure Tours in Croatia

From the country's vast plains, lakes and rolling hills, to the densely wooded mountains, to the rocky coastlines, there is much to offer those seeking adventure holidays in Croatia. Its coastline ranges more than 1,000km and inland there are unspoilt rural villages, mountains and lakes to enjoy your adventure holiday in Croatia. Thanks to the country's diverse climate, there are a variety of opportunities on offer for an adventure holiday in Croatia, from scuba diving in the Dalmatians, to mountain biking up-country. When planning your adventure holiday in Croatia, it is good to consider the number of adventure tours in Croatia available. You may find yourself mountain biking through the green hills, villages and family farms, mini rafting and white water rafting through undiscovered canyons, swimming in magnificent waterfalls, lakes, and subterranean tunnels. There are a range of walking holidays in Croatia that give you the opportunity to explore the stunning islands' beaches and scenery by foot, or go hiking in Paklenica National Park, a mountain canyon well known for mountaineering, free climbing, caves and mountain streams. Alternatively, you can explore the blue Mediterranean Sea, around the Pearl of the Adriatic, on one of the many sea kayaking holidays in Croatia where you can paddle to the Dubrovnik Old City Walls or the green Elaphite islands. Cycling holidays in Croatia are also a great way to explore the remote corners of the country where you may find yourself cycling through the forests, passing through idyllic villages, rolling farmland and wine growing country or on tour to the Barac caves. Sailing holidays in Croatia are one of the most popular choices as you can hop from one island to the next and this is often to best way to access many cliffs, caves, coves, and beaches less visited. The options for adventure holidays in Croatia are endless.
