Most memorable? As I can’t swim it has to be floating in the Dead Sea. It was an unbelievable experience. I did not believe I would be able to as I did not think it would work if you cant relax to float but the sea just lifted me up and held me in the water.

From simply sitting on a sand bank on the side of Ganges watching the birdlife after enjoying a sumptuous meal prepared by a local man with nothing more than the ingredients and utensils that he had on his boat to dressing up and being treated like Kings in the Maharajas palace it was just all fantastic. (more)We were really impressed with the genuine warmth of greeting from this Bedouin based community project, the welcome tea drink, the sunset walk with more tea around a camp fire! Jerash was incredible as was the site of the Baptism of Christ. The countryside of Jordan an all its aspects.

(more)The most memorable parts were wandering through the souks in Damascus, through the deserted ruins of Palmyra at dusk and dawn, Petra by night (in spite of the crowds) and standing on a red dune in Wadi Rum in the rain. We were lucky enough to have our own guide, who seemed to know the perfect times to visit everywhere - when we were with him, we were usually the only tourists, so felt very privileged. (more)
Most memorable were going inside the Great Pyramid, sailing down (up) the Nile in the Dahabiya, Hadeel, instead of the big diesel monsters they have for most tourists, El Tahrir square and the bazaar. The staff on the Hadeel were fabulous. (more)
