Auvergne holiday accommodation, France
We really enjoyed the week in the Auvergne it is very unspoilt and it is an area you can "get away from it all"....The area is ideal for walkers or most kinds of outdoor activities. There are lots of waymarked and signposted trails, that range from gentle woodland strolls to full mountain hikes. (more)Phil Smith
The quietness and natural beauty of Mont Dore in November was the most memorable part of the holiday (more)Mary Cherian
Our three teenage children claimed it was the best holiday we've had in years...that's high praise indeed! Relaxed, easy to find something to enjoy in stunning surroundings, with a friendly, quality service offered by attentive hosts. (more)Sarah Brennan

Dordogne self catering cabin sleeping 4
Memorable parts? Just being in such a remote location, no internet, no emails, no phone signal! Totally peace and tranquility! Having the raft was totally fab to play around on too! Also seeing the kingfisher, catching fish (returned safely to their watery home!) having deer as neighbours & listening to the stags rutting. Tips? The cabin can hold 2 adults & 2 children comfortably as the upstairs twin room is very low - if you are a grown up with back problems......ouch! But more than... (more)Sally Cowburn

Dordogne self guided walking holiday, France
Memorable parts? Touring historic towns including Sarlat with our kids. Dinner time also great fun with excellent meals. Tips? Buy a more detailed map to cross reference with the info provided by the tour which at times was incomplete or confusing. For example some of the images in the guidebook were poor quality and hard to read. Local benefits? Somewhat. Overall rating? (more)Duane Koons

Most memorable was the peace and tranquility, staying somewhere off grid. Different, enjoyable, relaxing, peaceful and fun. (more)Maria Masselis
The whole holiday was a relaxed and stress free experience beginning with travelling from the UK by train to the lovely surroundings and cosy cabin... It was a wonderful relaxed holiday, lovely setting, very friendly and helpful owners. (more)Birgitte Bruun

Dordogne cycling tour, France
Memorable parts? Sarlat - we just loved wandering around the medieval part of town. Tips? Pack as light as possible, but for all temps (the caves were quite cold). If you want to visit lots of attractions, you'd need to be a very strong rider to have enough time to do this. Local benefits? Absolutely. Overall rating? Almost perfect...4 1/2 stars. Just a couple of comments if you want to make this a 5 star holiday: A map of Rocamadour showing where our hotel was (as... (more)Deborah Palacios

Off-grid wooden cabin in the Dordogne, France
Memorable parts? A true and complete "off-grid" experience - proof that living off-grid is convenient, comfortable and great fun. Lots of memorable moments: watching fledgling little owls make their first flights; watching red starts nesting in the walls of the old buildings; helping the owners build a wood-fired pizza-oven and then helping them test it! Best pizza ever! Tips? Be prepared to enjoy the local countryside - ready to walk or to cycle. There are lots of circular routes... (more)Bob Brown
