The scenery and the climate were spectacular, but the general feel of Ethiopia is great, much cleaner than I expected...Eskinder and the operator were great, they looked after us every step of the way, and we have some wonderful memories to keep.

Ethiopia is a beautiful country and confounds every expectation. Having Live Aid so firmly etched in my mind, I went expecting to see abject poverty and desert but instead found myself overwhelmed by the majestic landscapes and besotted with the independence and pride of the Ethiopians.

We chose to do the trip by road as opposed to flying and it was a very good choice. The travel was very difficult at times but the landscape was amazing and well worth the long days. You also get a great insight into the day to day life of the people. Those journeys were my most memorable.
