Having Live Aid so firmly etched in my mind, I went expecting to see abject poverty and desert but instead found myself overwhelmed by the majestic landscapes and besotted with the independence and pride of the Ethiopians. The country is very different from what we had experienced before but also remarkably easy to travel in, especially the way that we did it...We had a great time. The travel was very difficult at times but the landscape was amazing and well worth the long days. You also get a great insight into the day to day life of the people. Those journeys were my most memorable.
