Touring lake monasteries in Bahir Dar, Lalibela - especially the mule trek...I would definitely recommend visiting Ethiopia - a beautiful and friendly country and using this tour operator.

Ethiopia is a beautiful country and confounds every expectation. Having Live Aid so firmly etched in my mind, I went expecting to see abject poverty and desert but instead found myself overwhelmed by the majestic landscapes and besotted with the independence and pride of the Ethiopians.

Challenging to the extreme but rewarding - as I also visited a sponsored child so the trek as well as the visit made an excellent combination.
