The traditional barbecue Nick and Dasha have prepared to us with Czech sausages coming from local farmers was really great. Being at the fireplace outside each one of us learning how to get the sausages at their best, is still one of the remarkable moments of our holidays, even for Manuel (our 7 year old son). Memorable parts? Just being in such a remote location, no internet, no emails, no phone signal! Totally peace and tranquility! Having the raft was totally fab to play around on too! Also seeing the kingfisher, catching fish (returned safely to their watery home!) having deer as neighbours & listening to the stags rutting. Tips? The husky sledging was amazing and we also got to see the northern lights we did something nearly everyday and enjoyed every minute, went to the ice hotel you can't really explain in words how pretty the scenery is you have to go and see it to believe it. (more)Karen Waller

Memorable parts? There were lots of memorable aspects but the two things that stand out were the varied mixture of activities in the programme, and the cohesion of the group and tutors alike. Excellent. A great set up - the family open their home up to everyone and give you the chance to be part of their rural existence in splendid isolation. Memorable parts? Not sure I can narrow it down to one thing! For starters, the area was incredible. Think spectacular limestone mountains, lush green countryside, wild coastline and fresh air...so much fresh air! Memorable parts? There was no one memorable moment - the yoga, meditation and life coaching experienced over the week all combined to produce a wonderful feeling of positivity and grounding. Tips? Memorable parts? Discovering an authentic and undiscovered part of Portugal. The combination of Yoga and acupuncture treatments was extremely beneficial and unique and the hosts were caring and thoughtful. The food was fantastic, fresh and plentiful. Even though we were in a group context, everyone's individual needs were attended to in a very subtle way so we all felt very relaxed. Tips? We didn't see another soul on the 3 main hikes that we did and getting to the top of Cerro del Buitre and seeing all the mountains around us was amazing. The only real noise was the sound of the snow melting and falling off the trees below us. Memorable parts? It really was a beautiful holiday. We really loved the whole holiday. We liked the house we rented through Responsible Travel. The location was wonderful; the landscape was amazing, nice and quiet, in contact with nature. We liked hiking in the beautiful Lanzarote volcanic areas and along the paths of La Geria wine region.
