We were immersed in this really poor country, with the hint of past traumatic occupation and wars, and received the most generous opening of hearts from this 80% buddhist country.

(more)On leaving our room at Serendip which led out straight onto the front veranda... we saw that the garden was full of fireflies. We were then led to our table out the back by the plunge pool where we would be eating dinner. The manager had arranged and lit dozens of tea lights around the garden. Priceless.
(more)Two great parts of the holiday were the climb in the mist (with snow all around us) to a Pyrenees peak of around 2800m and the zip wiring over a beautiful reservoir and dam. (more)We were intrigued to stay in a house made of straw bales and to see how recycling/ reuse can be put into practice and good effect.- we were not disappointed! We found the photo albums showing the building of the house really interesting.
(more)The most memorable part was the excitement of watching the different colours emerging as we used natural dyes and the anticipation of what could be created using them.
