Peru family adventure holiday
Memorable parts? We were hiking for few hours through beautiful Inca trail and at the end we had seen Machu Picchu in clouds and then in a full sun. Tips? Take good rain gear when you travel during wet season. We were there in December and weather was good, but sometimes we got surprises. Local benefits? I think we benefit local people. We visited places stayed in hotels, bought souvenirs. It seems, money we spend stayed there. I hope money collected in tickets will be... (more)Iwona Warszawska

Small group tours to Japan
Memorable parts? Walking in the countryside - seeing parts of Japan that I would never have discovered on my own and being guided by a reliable expert. Asuka, Dorogawa and the Mitarai Gorge were particularly memorable. Also - wonderful exotic food, charming ryokans and soothing onsens. (And the company of like-minded fellow travellers.) Tips? Ensure that you are fit enough to do the walking required, get a really good rucksack and carry as little as possible. There are drinks and... (more)Una Dinning

Wildlife sailing holiday in Scotland
Wonderful holiday and great value for money. I'm considering running away to sea! (more)Patricia Moss
The most memorable part of my time on St. Hilda was the amazing spectacular scenery of Scotland, the sea lochs, seals, birds, jelly fish and the warm welcome. The knowledge and expertise of Colette and Michael on the whole trip. The lovely food, Colette is a great cook, but very modest! The being at sea. Sleeping in a Bunk, hearing the sound of the wind and waves, feeling warm and cosey! (more)Sue Holloway
What can one say about this holiday it has to be one of the best holidays I have ever been on with two of the best hosts you could ever wish to meet in Michael and Colette who make your trip so wonderful and informative and the fellow passengers John, Julie, Peter and Mike who it was a pleasure to sail with. Cycling holiday in Catalonia, Spain
We all enjoyed it immensely...I think seeing the first medieval village and cycling through the deep countryside were the most satisfying experiences. For others it might have been stopping for the first beer at a village café. Or the fantastic burger and chips in Ripli when we were all tired and hungry. (more)John Lowdon
Very good..Cycling through the countryside and to and from the beach. Also the food was fantastic. (more)Wendy McCaffer
Very enjoyable....Go visit and eat at the castle hotel in Bispal (more)Itay Mehl

Family activity holiday in Turkey
Excellent...the guides could not have been more helpful or accommodating. We had a wonderful time. (more)David Scanlon
It was good to go with a local travel company rather than a group one. We have recommended it to lots of friends. So many good memories and hard to pinpoint anything. The accommodation was lovely and felt like we were staying with an extended family rather than employees. (more)Kate Fox Evans
A rewarding and life affirming experience...Canyoning was particularly memorable as it provided a wonderful opportunity to explore the landscape, scenery and wildlife, as well as a balance of challenge through rock scrambling and chill time plunging in refreshing rock pools. (more)Kim Smith

Amsterdam to Bruges bike and barge holiday
Memorable parts? Living and travelling on the barge Fiep. The crew, accommodation and food were excellent. Amsterdam, Ghent and Antwerp were great. Was disappointed with Bruges - too touristy! Tips? Be prepared for the wind in Holland which made cycling more difficult than expected. Local benefits? Yes because we were travelling by boat and bicycles so not polluting the roads and adding to traffic. Overall rating? Enjoyable but felt that the leader lacked basic skills... (more)Jill Toman

Catalan horse riding holiday in Spain
Memorable parts? Communal meals with so many colourful and friendly people! The wonderful family who ran the hotel who couldn't do enough for you, but didn't crowd you. The beautiful landscape in the middle of nowhere ,only 10mins from the nearest town. Every sporting facility provided, pool, gym, cycling and running and horse riding locally. Even in you're not up to treading the boards, the terrace and poolside are wonderful places to chill out. Tips? Preferably have a car, though... (more)Caroline O

The very first Antarctic landing was a photographer's feast that was totally mindblowing at such an early stage of the trip. (more)Louise Yerbury
The most memorable part of visiting Antarctica has to be (as part of the diving contingent) diving with Leopard Seals on two occasions. (more)Mike McCormack

Biking through the towns with our tour guide, Inka, who was an exceptional leader. The ride was challenging, leisurely, and culturally rewarding! (more)Michael Chirichello

Cultural holiday to Bhutan
Memorable parts? Bhutan was a wonderful destination to visit. This beautiful mountainous country had picture postcard views almost everywhere one looked. The local people are friendly, the Dzongs are amazing and located in fantastic positions. The festival we saw was brilliant with highly colourful costumes and masks. Our visit to one monastery was special as only our group had the chance to just listen to the chanting monks with their drums and horns. Although this country is starting to... (more)Daniel Collings

Cycling holiday in Umbria, Italy
Memorable parts? Cycling through some beautiful areas of Italy with a great, mixed group. Tips? Get some cycling practice in - most of the riding is on quiet roads, so worth getting used to traffic. Local benefits? Not sure it particularly benefited local people, although meals were often in local restaurants. Overall rating? Absolutely fantastic and memorable. (more)Michelle Bickle

Turkey activity holiday
Memorable parts? The canyoning part, definitely. Followed by a night by the river, with BBQ and nice chats. To wake up and enjoy a demanding, yet fun, rafting day. Tips? Appropriate clothing and sport gear as temperatures can be quite high and activities quite challenging. Local benefits? Yes I do, especially due to the local guide who loves his country and his doing his best to protect it against anything (garbage, mass tourism, incivilities...) which may alter it. He knows,... Thailand family adventure holiday on the River Kwai
Memorable parts? We've decided that there were higher points, like elephants, tuc-tucs and boat trips but that the whole thing merged into one great experience. Tips? First, look at your needs. There's a great variety of opportunities, more than most other holiday firms. For this experience pick the one appropriate to your family. in our case, for families with older teenagers. Then just turn up, be prepared to join in and go with the flow. Local benefits? We certainly provided... (more)Robert Brown

There were many memorable & exciting parts. Just standing on the Antarctic continent for one! Getting close to wildlife. (Actually it was more like wildlife getting close to you - if you sat down penguins would walk right up to you & check you out.) (more)Sara Page
The most memorable part of my holiday was landing on Danger Islands. We got our first real taste of the Antarctic Continent and got beautiful weather. The view of the sea and icebergs was breathtaking. (more)James Keaney

Adventure holiday in Rajasthan
Memorable parts? I will never forget bicycling down some of the quite back country lanes of Rajasthan - children running across field of yellow mustard flowers to greet you as you bicycle past - pausing in a small village to meet the people weaving a beautiful rug on the huge loom - spotting a beautiful Kingfisher perched in a tree as you pause to admire. Tips? Enquire as to what you might bring along to benefit a local school or such that you might be visiting along the way! Local... (more)Mike Perry

Self guided cycling holiday in Tuscany, Italy
Memorable parts? The whole trip was memorable... Tuscany is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. I think the most exciting part of the trip was when we were biking to Pisa and got our first glimpse of the leaning tower. It was so surreal! Tips? The Tuscany route offered is pretty challenging. When we booked this trip was described as light to moderate in difficulty however after finishing the tour and talking to the tour operator we were told it was one of the hardest... Prague & Tatra Mountains family holiday
Memorable parts? Climbing up the Tatra Mountains to be within sight of the Polish border. Tips? Take a good phrase book for Slovakia or brush up your German on food and drink because many of the local restaurants have no one who speaks English and the Menu is not translated into English, so without this your choice of restaurant is very limited, which means you miss out on some real gems of local village life. Local benefits? Yes, but there was scope for more. The hotel we... (more)Rosemary Milton

Mongolia family holiday
Memorable parts? Just the sheer beauty of the Mongolian landscape. It surpassed expectations. The wildlife - pairs of golden eagles just sitting by the road! Staying in gers was fun, as was meeting some of the local people and sampling 101 things to do with yak's milk... Tips? The weather is variable so do make sure you bring wet weather gear and a jumper for the evenings, even in summer. Take matches or a lighter for the stoves in your ger. LOADS of camera memory and spare batteries... (more)Helen Bichard

Memorable parts? Many wonderful memories, among which magnificent sunsets, mating lions and a leopard resting in a high tree near its prey, a young impala, lifted in the tree. Lions and leopard were seen in the Moremi Game reserve. Tips? Bring enough warm clothes: in July and August, nights and early mornings are very cold. Bring many memory cards and something to protect your camera from dust and sand. Local benefits? This tour is organized by a South-African company, so... (more)Françoise Bartiaux
