A great itinerary with a chance to try out some activities we wouldnt normally get the chance to try.

The pre dinner drinks and craic (good conversation) and the dinners cooked by Debbie and Mark were always something to look forward especially when the legs were tiring and the backside a little sore!

The good memories started from our very first contact with responsible travel. They put us in touch with Mark and his wife and the wonderful chateau they live in which became our B@B for 3 nights. I felt we were visiting friends at the wineries because of Mark's relationship with the small vintners.

Successfully navigating our way in and out of beautiful little towns being enthusiastically helped with directions and suggestions for great things to see and do by locals even with our absolute lack of French.

Cycling at our own pace through stunning, varied countryside and finding places
that we would have missed in a car...The holiday was superb. Everything was well-organised with a varied itinerary and just the right length.

I cycled around bordeaux wine country. The scenery was spectacular and the atmosphere was breathtaking.

The most memorable part was snow shoeing on a beautiful sunny Christmas Day and completing our first Via Ferrata.

All the activities were special (trekking, cycling, horse riding and via ferrata). The two peaks we climbed were highlights for me.

The scenery around Bareges is fantastic, and apart from the visit to the Cirque de Gavarnie, which is a popular tourist destination, we practically had the mountains to ourselves.

The boys loved cayonning - jumping off of cayons into pools; I loved horse riding American style through the mountains - it was fantastic & Liz was a terrific guide. We also climbed up to some glacial lakes with Mel - which was an incredible experience.

Most memorable was cycling up Mont Ventoux. Wow! Its tough, very tough, but worth the effort. Particularly nice to have a really fabulous hotel at the bottom to relax afterwards.

I particularly loved our mountain walk, with spectacular views and carpets of Pyrenean irises, and I think one of the highlights for all of us was swimming in a beautiful mountain lake.

Most memorable were the great cycling and the choice of chateaux, restaurants, wine-tasting, etc we had in very good cycling weather. Good that cycling on French roads turned out to be easy, although there were not always cycle paths.
