Italian Riviera holidays. Tours & holidays in 2016 & 2017

Stretching from its French counterpart all the way along the coast to Tuscany, the Italian Riviera, in Italy’s Liguria region, is strewn with fishing villages, hidden coves and rugged rocks as well as chic resorts like Portofino and maritime hubs such as Sestri Levante. Walking on Italian Riviera holidays is an ideal means of combining coastal paths and forest trails with medieval towns and agricultural landscapes.

Italian Riviera walking holiday, self guided
Memorable parts? Swimming in the sea below the ancient monastery at San Fruttuoso after a hot walk was just magical! Tips? The walks look short, but involve a lot of up and down so are more challenging than they initially appear. But the views make them absolutely worthwhile. Local benefits? It appeared there was a big effort to preserve the natural areas that were part of the walk. Overall rating? It was wonderful (more)Lynn Bowie
