The food was absolutely beautiful. (more)Every destination was exciting to experience but my favorites were the Cinque Terra, Lake Como, and the bike ride in Lucca. (more)Hiking in the Cinque Terre and cycling in Lucca were the highlights. Local trains and buses and staying in small often family run hotels certainly minimized our impact. We stumbled on a very local benefit cook-out for a church restoration in Venice. We enjoyed dinner there which also included a live band, and felt good that proceeds were going to a good cause.
