Italy family holidays

Italians love children, and you'll love our Italy family holidays. Burn bambini energy zipping over the waves in RIBs off Sardinia, or scaling Dolomites inclines. Potter ravishing coasts in Amalfi and Liguria, or cycle quiet Sardinian backroads between sandy coves. Ski hidden Alpine valleys – then dine in caves! Or delve epic history, from Rome's imperial grandeur to eerie Pompeii, frozen in time beneath still fiery Mt Vesuvius.

Memorable parts? Simply the location! It was all that you imagine Tuscany to be - a converted farmhouse set in stunning countryside with a view of the surrounding Tuscan countryside that had to be seen to be believed and which afforded the sight of the most wonderful sunsets. That the accommodation was also superb and provided by the most dedicated and hard-working hosts ever made it the most complete location for a holiday in Tuscany. Learn to dive in Sardinia, Italy
One of the most memorable parts of my trip was a snorkelling excursion along the Golfo di Orosei. Along the way, as we sailed past all the stunning beaches and caves, Cinzia gave us plenty of information about the geography and nature along the coast, but all in a very humorous and fun way. Once in the crystal clear water we were lucky enough to see a couple of weird and wonderful creatures. (more)Christine Morton
Brilliant scenery, great underwater wildlife and quiet roads. Cala Garone is absolutely idyllic in October. (more)Ann Windle
The diving was very flexible and went at our pace. I'd go back again - I'm hoping to finish some more advanced diving courses there. (more)Eimear Monaghan

We loved it and hope to return some day. (more)Carole Eyles
The snorkelling trips in the gulf of Orosei. Stunning coast line and clear blue waters. Cinzia makes a great guide - she tells you lots of information and points out stuff while you're snorkelling. You go in caves and swim or snorkel for as long as you want, getting back in time for lunch. (more)Alan Macdonald
Snorkelling in azure waters amongst tiny blue fish with Eleonora Falcons flying overhead was the most memorable part. (more)Kerry Riddell

Memorable parts? We have wonderful memories of relaxing at Villa Nuba, meeting new friends and exploring the beautiful countryside of Umbria. Fantastic part of the world. Tips? Make sure you rent a car (with GPS) to see Umbria. You really don't need a car if you are only interested in Perugia, as Villa Nuba is so close to the city centre. Local benefits? Memorable parts? The creation of a relaxing atmosphere - from sitting in wonderful gardens to chilling out in the pool to sitting in the amazing cellar wine bar. Tips? Sardinia beach hotel in Bari Sardo, Italy
An enjoyable trip that has left us keen to return to Sardinia in future to explore further. We enjoyed the scenery, which was spectacular along the coast and especially further inland. The beach was quiet and relaxing. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, even though few spoke English. Meals in the hotel restaurant were nicely prepared and local in character. Memorable parts? We loved the trip to the fortress of fenestrelle and this was organised for us by our hosts Kent and Michelle Benson, complete with English translator, very helpfully. Tips? Bring a phrase book, there really wasn't that much English spoken which was quite a change. Local benefits? Yes, in that we ate out locally, but no in that we flew and hired a car. Overall rating? We really liked the area and the people were very friendly and helpful, for instance... (more)Jenny Roberts
