History, culture & wildlife of India holiday
The most exciting part was not on the original programme. We asked Rajat to give us somewhat more nature and less culture. He arranged for us to spend a day and two nights in a resort on the Kabini Lake, across from the Nagarhole National Park. On a boat safari at dusk, amidst myriad birds and beasts, we saw a male tiger emerging muddily from the river, slinking into the jungle. (more)Robin Fox

To pick one would be impossible - but how about visiting and dancing with new friends from a Lobi village while listening to their incredible music (one of the "instruments" was a shovel) or following an elephant's footprints, then hearing him, particularly the sound of his ears flapping, before seeing him. (more)Freddy Davis

What part of my holiday wasn't memorable or exciting?? If I had to pick something, I would have to say hanging out with the Lobi villagers around Wechiau. Memorable parts? Arriving in the village - the warmth of the welcome, the pleasure of staying in a manyatta (mud hut). Also the activities are wonderful - walks amongst the zebra, milking cows, firing bows and arrows, lighting fires. Really good fun!! Tips? I went for 4 nights - 2 in the camp and 2 in the village. The camp is great - paraffin lamps, good food and comfy beds. You can get the lie of the land and start to get to know your hosts. But don't miss out on staying in the village... (more)Helena Smith

Gobi Desert expedition
Memorable parts? That's a hard decision to make. The Gobi desert in Mongolia awesome. I took around 4000 pictures and movies that we'll put on our website along with a travel log. We really liked the sand dunes and camels. I got some great pictures of horses, camels, people and the environment. It was awesome staying in Ger camps. Our driver, Ot, was awsome. Tips? Be flexible. Know that your guide and driver are very experienced. It's typical for a car to break down but the driver's... (more)Charlotte Lundemo

Memorable parts? It is a hard question as the whole holiday was very memorable. The Tiger Nest walk, the Gangtey Valley, the Lika Monastery as well as the Wangditse Gompa were the places we liked the most Tips? I would tell them that Bhutan is much more touristic than what I thought but, despite that it manages to remain unspoilt and very spontaneous. The holiday was completely wonderful in every way. The whole holiday was memorable beyond expectation but if I have to chose one element that was most memorable it's the organiser Ravi Kumar and his wonderful family at Aakriti who treated me like a loved family member (more)Nelson Jeannette
It was fascinating to experience a little part of this remarkable mixture. The visit to the backwaters - which included 24 hours on our boat - was particularly worthwhile. This is an area of lakes, rivers and small canals quite unlike any other we have visited. (more)John Burley
Most memorable parts were - sharing the Diwali Festival during a homestay at Aakriti. The choice of hotels and the mixture of interests including an overnight journey on a train. (more)Richard Kinch

All of the home-stay was brilliant. It was well planned for us, and everyone was friendly and helpful throughout. The most memorable part was the wonderful family who we stayed with and seeing our children playing happily all together. (more)Deborah Nickolls
An amazing week, and one that my daughter and I will never forget. Health care & sports volunteering in Uganda
Memorable parts? When I was marking out straight lines of the village's football pitch, the local community joined in to help. it showed me that little things can make a difference and put smile's on people's faces. Tips? Just go and throw yourself fully into the whole experience, the projects you help with and the people you share the house with. Also just relax, things are at a much slower pace so timings can be a issue, but its not really a big deal when you can go look outside... (more)James Bloomfield

Kerala houseboat holiday, India
It was a wonderful holiday, and we would love to go back...The houseboat was run so professionally by Suresh and his team. Our room was spotless, the living accommodation at the front of the boat was comfortable and spacious, the food amazing (we were offered and enjoyed all manner of Keralan dishes) and plentiful, the staff genuinely friendly and helpful. (more)Fran Smart
Each place we visited was like a new holiday. Brilliantly put together, great choice of places to stay. And of course Kerala was amazing, and the food to die for. (more)Sarah Beard
I would say that the most magical moment was waking up in the houseboat on the Kerala backwaters to see, way across a paddy field, an elephant trudging along the road amid the usual chaotic cacophony of cars, lorries, tuk-tuks, bikes, motorbikes and unaccountably still living pedestrians. (more)Melinda Letts
