    Tiger watching holiday in India
    From
    £660

Seeing a tiger in the wild was simply amazing, but another heart stopping experience happened a few days later. While having an outdoor supper at the hotel, a tiger nearby started calling. It sounded so close and the area was so dark. Simply amazing to be that close to wild tigers. (more)Lorinda Semeniuk

Highlights have to be the Puri ceremony at the temple at Bhoramdeo (not for the feint hearted). The abundance of amazing home cooked, freshly prepared, organic food. The local market at Neur, which was beautifully vibrant and colourful. The train ride was a great experience...it was all fabulous! (more)Rosy Everitt

Memorable parts? Seeing tigers, without a doubt! I was very lucky and saw both male and female tigers at Tadoba National Park as well as the famous Maya with her three six month old cubs. At Kanha we also had a fantastic encounter with a male tiger. He wandered up the road ahead of us, glancing back as if to make sure we were all following. Then he sauntered across a meadow with spotted deer alarming and watching his every move. On the first day at Kanha, we also saw a pair of jackals with... (more)Susan Hunter

The most exciting part of the holiday was travelling on the overnight train and the many opportunities we had to meet local people and glimpse a little of what their lives are like. I must also add the bustle and colour of the camel fair and the friendliness of everyone we met. (more)Avril Vallance
Bhopal Singh is undoubtedly the best guide I have had on trips to India. He actually knows the history as well as the culture, habits, etc...Excellent. (more)Nancy Hayward
    Kanha Tiger Reserve lodge, India
    From
    £75

Memorable parts? Picture the scene, you are sat on the back of an elephant looking down into the long grass where a stunning tiger views you with mild suspicion. Your elephant steps a couple of feet too close and... whilst it was merely a warning and we were obviously in no danger, I will never forget the noise the tiger made! Our tiger sightings (5 in 3 days at Kanha) were amazing. Peering through the edge of the forest to see a tiger looking back at you only a few metres away is something... (more)Mark Lineham
