Arriving at the village of Imlil and loading our bags on to a mule was certainly a highlight and set the tone of things to come. When we reached our room and looked out over our balcony to the snow capped mountains above we knew we were in for a fabulous stay. (more)

Morocco travel information

With coastlines on the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, Morocco was the cradle of the two historic North African empires that dominated the Iberian peninsula into the 15th century. The Imperial Cities of Fez, Marrakech, Meknes and Rabat all have fascinating architectural monuments, evidence of the country's former wealth and power, and a number of old towns, ancient ruins and markets are listed as World Heritage sites by UNESCO.

The spectacular ranges of the Atlas and Rif mountains, still home to the nomadic Berbers, offer outstanding opportunities for hiking, and trekking on foot or on horseback, with camel-riding also possible in the Atlas mountains as well as around the Sahara Desert area in the southwest.
