Memorable parts? The boat trip down the Mekong. So relaxing. Tips? Keep luggage to a minimum. Laundry facilities are widely available and you'll have more room in your case for purchases. We had a nice, quiet break at the straw bale cabin. Sri Lanka holiday, island explorer
Most memorable was the variety of landscape in Sri Lanka, the cave temple at Damballa, the train journey from Kandy, the views from Ella, the night stay in the tree house camp in Yala national park and seeing leopards, elephants and beautiful birds on safari in the park. (more)Barbara Essam
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Sri Lanka and the tour aspect was well organised. We particularly enjoyed the variety of activities and accommodation. Best bits were the trip to the rock fortress and Yala where we saw leopards and a big black bear which apparently was very rare. (more)jude parsons

Cyprus walking holiday, North Cyprus
Memorable parts? Difficult to pick out a single event. The magnificent, tall, yellow wild fennel; the carpet of cyclemen; the single Sufi performing his "whirling dervish" trance; the view of sea and mountains from the terrace outside my room; the scent of orange blossom in the hotel gardens was intoxicating; our guide, Christina, was so enthusiastic, knowledgable and helpful. Her fluent Turkish was impressive and she certainly gave me an insight into the Greek/Turkish actions and their effects... (more)Amore Robinson

Photography tour in Laos & Thailand
Memorable parts? Almost too many to recount! The rice terraces at sunset and dawn, the hike through Tiger Leaping Gorge, the Stone Forest, the lake and mountains and pagodas at Dali, the Jade Dragon Mountain at Lijiang, Shangri-La, the markets and ethnic minorities.... Kashmir small group holiday, India
Memorable parts? The dramatic mountain scenery on the pass from Leh over to the Nubra valley. And the lakes at Srinagar. Tips? Be prepared for different temperatures and aware of the effect of the high altitude on your wellbeing. Local benefits? Yes with the tour's use of local guides, drivers etc and the responsible attitude to ensuring that no debris was left behind on any sites. Overall rating? This was a trip of a lifetime for me as I had wanted to visit this area... (more)Irene Nicoll

Angkor Wat tour
Memorable parts? First sight on Angkor Wat before sunrise, silhouetted against a dark sky. Tips? Bring sunscreen! Local benefits? We had a great local guide, but I was concerned about the impact of our big, air-conditioned bus & noisy diesel longtail boat during the trip up Tonle Sap. I'd like to know more about how money from tourism actually infiltrates the local economy. I'm concerned that tourism is creating a dependent, vassal class of native servants & merchants. (more)Diane Pittman
From £650 - £805 including domestic flights only

Cambodia holidays, Phnom Penh & Angkor
Fantastic window into cambodia. we needed a few days on a thai beach to assimilate it all. (more)Anna Bradley
So many things were amazing. Seeing the sun rise at Angkor Wat, trekking in the Kulen mountains and camping overnight at the monastery at the top. My daughter would say it was riding on an elephant, something she has always wanted to do. (more)Janet Potts
Rather to my surprise, given that I went solely to see Angkor, the most memorable part was probably eating real food in local Cambodian eating places...I would rate is as well constructed and well led - and well enjoyed. What more could I have wanted? It was perfect. (more)C Beels
From £2050 - £2250 including UK flights

The hospitality of our hosts was most memorable...Look forward to a great holiday in beautiful, secluded locations. (more)Hilary Wight
A wonderfully calming and tranquil holiday rather than an "exciting" one. Should also mention the great hospitality shown by our hosts, delicious home cooked food and generous introductions to local wines and brandies! A lovely relaxing time. (more)Mark McKenzie

Southern India holiday
The most memorable parts were...The walk in the jungle, the Serpent temple, the tea plantations are stunning. (more)Simona Perlasca
The tour provided much work for local people and the guide always made a point of telling us where we could benefit the individual Indian people rather than the large companies. (more)Paul Crew
Excellent. Our tour guide, Avdhesh, was superb and for a holiday in India this was an almost unbelievably stress free experience. For us it was the first time we've travelled in an organised group rather than on our own, and we covered so much more than we could ever manage without being guided. (more)Neil Smith
From £1599 - £1859 including UK flights
Hiking holidays in Scotland
Memorable parts? The walking, the food, and Rebecca and Andy's hospitality. Local benefits? Andy and Rebecca have tried really hard to create a B&B which offers a very comfortable experience but yet limits the environmental impact. Everything that can be recycled or reused is, but yet at the same time this doesn’t effect the quality of the service offered and I feel this certainly adds to the whole experience and ambience of the lodge. Overall rating? An excellent holiday,... (more)Ruth Seward
From £268 - £970 excluding flights
Wolf spotting in France
This was an outstanding opportunity to walk in an imposing place, and experience something completely different as a family. From £1395 excluding flights
Trekking holiday in Cuba
Memorable parts? Certainly interesting was the venture to see Castro's headquarters in Alta Naranjo. Tips? Ask cost of tour before accepting offered tours. The city tour of Holquin, was more expensive than I would have thought. It was not clear to me when we were dropped off, that it was/ was not included in our payments. Also, I definitely think the trek should be condensed into 2 days in the park and not 3. When we were there we met a large UK group who did it in 2 days, and... (more)Christina Parsons
From £265 - £555 excluding flights
Oman holiday, Forts and Deserts of Oman
Memorable parts? The desert, mountains and hospitality in Oman. Tips? Distances are long in Muscat so make sure you book a hotel with a convenient location. We made a tailor-made contract with the operator. However, the tour was subcontracted to a local travel agent - not ideal when problems arise! Often there was a miss-match between given itinerary and actual plan, not that we missed anything but somehow annoying. Book your holiday directly and you are in control! Local benefits? Not... (more)Kirsten Christensen
From £2290 excluding flights
Thailand, Laos and Cambodia holiday
Memorable parts? The train Journey from Bangkok, the days on the Mekong and the guided tour of Bangkok. Tips? There are not too many high spots on this holiday, as it misses out the main sights. This is a rather low key trip and some of it is very beautiful. It does take you to less visited areas. Prepare for two full days of travelling at the end to get to Phenom Phen. Local benefits? Definitely relations with local people were respectful and brought benefits to them. Overall... (more)Lesley Holly
From £2310 - £2510 including UK flights
Ecuador holiday, community based tourism
From the moment we stepped on to the canoe it all became a bit of an adventure. Our excellent local guide Delfin brought the forest to life with his tales of the living in the forest (more)Jane Rawson
The whole holiday was very very good and hugely enjoyable! The time at Bellavista cloud forest reserve was exceptional for me especially as I was able to go back for a few days after the group tour finished and do more walks on my own (saw a sloth even). (more)Alison Pelikan
From £3195 excluding flights
Georgia holiday, tailor made
Memorable parts? Hard to say - it was all wonderful. But probably our time in the High Caucasus Mountains where the wildflowers, scenery, and local people were unforgettable. Tips? Take the Bradt Guide - it's full of great information. Local benefits? Definitely benefited local people. Throughout the tour we travelled with a local guide and 2 local drivers. Hotels and Guest Houses were all locally owned/managed. We ate locally produced food in small restaurants/cafes most... (more)Caroline Gant
