Holiday in Peru & Inca Trail
As each day passed it became my favourite day so far! The Inca Trail of course and the island home stay have to be my top two. The holiday was made all the more memorable because of the great group we were travelling with and of course our guide Dante. (more)Helen Leng
Sitting on top of WaynaPicchu looking at the cloud forest and mountains was the highlight. (more)Joanna Tupper
Walking the Inca Trail was the hardest thing I have ever done but the exhilaration and euphoria of the whole group as we walked through the Sun Gate is something money cannot buy and a memory that will last forever. (more)Christine Ingham

Peru tailor made holiday, Machu Picchu & Tambopata
Memorable parts? Taking boat trips on the side tributaries of the Amazon! We loved seeing all the animals. Tips? Allow more time at the Ankatera Maccu Picchu Hotel. There is a lot to do there and we didn't allow any time there (except for seeing the ruins). Local benefits? The Amazon portion of our trip benefited local villages and supported conservation of primates. The time in the Sacred Valley definitely benefited local cooperatives and individuals. Overall rating? 9/10 (more)Nadia Al-Alawi

Bolivia and Peru tour
Memorable parts? Inca Trail! Making it and seeing Machu Picchu. Tips? Bring clothing for a variety of weather. Be prepared for early mornings, the possibility of altitude sickness... The more in shape you are, the more you will get out of the trip as well! Local benefits? Yes, I think the homestays were great, and the trip encompassed ecotourism, especially in the Amazon. Overall rating? Great. (more)Rachel Carbonell

Adventure holiday in Peru
Memorable parts? The homestay with local families on Isla Amantani where we had to dress up in local costume for a fun evening of Peruvian dancing! Tips? Make sure you are fit enough for the trekking part Local benefits? Yes Overall rating? The combination of the magnificant scenery plus the amazing Inca ruins made it especially memorable. Inca trail & Amazon Rainforest holiday
Extremely enjoyable. There was a lot of travel involved and a fully packed itinery but well worth it as we seen so much and so many great experiences. (more)Keith Charters
The overall experience was very good. ...The Inka Trail and the first glimpse of Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate. (more)Chris Chaddock
An optional visit to a farm in the rainforest was real eye-opener. The Libertador Tambopata lodges were excellent and gave you a real feel for the rainforest. (more)John Duff

Highlights of Peru holiday
Memorable parts? Arriving to the Sun Gate at 6am after the Inca trail...and seeing the clouds moving away and revealing Machu Picchu! The homestay in the peninsula of Lake Titicaca was also the most amazing experience as was the bus ride from Puno to La Paz... those views of the Lake Titicaca were so beautiful, both on Peruvian and Bolivian side! Also riding the Worlds most dangerous road in Bolivia was super!!! Tips? Remember that Peru and Bolivia are developing countries and hygiene... (more)Kristiina Puusaari-Sheahan

Andes overland journey, Atacama desert to Machu Picchu
Memorable parts? Visiting Machu Picchu. Tips? Be prepared for the effects of altitude. We didn't get altitude sickness but suffered from tiredness, headaches and shortness of breath, especially when walking up hills. You need to give yourself longer to do things requiring physical effort. Local benefits? Yes, all guides, drivers and hotel staff were locals and we stayed with a local family on Lake Titicaca. There was an emphasis on conservation and reducing environmental... (more)Dianne Margaret Reidy

Amazon & Peru tailormade holiday
Walking in Chivay region independently was one of the highlights, and a great starting point for the holiday. We also spent some time with a charity in Ollantaytambo and got to know some fantastic people working for the charity as well as local families. (more)Jane Lewis-Evans
Seeing Machu Picchu through the mist in the early morning. Seeing dolphins and sea turtles alongside the cruise ship in the Galapagos. Hearing the grunts and feeling the vibrations of a stampede of over 50 peccaries in the Rainforest. (more)Samantha Lewis
Machu Picchu & the Lares Trail were the most memorable parts... Great experience, amazing sites - but very full on - little time to rest so don’t come for a relaxing break. (more)Lorraine Anthony

Lake Titicaca & Peru highlights holiday
Memorable parts? Being amongst high Andes mountains and half uncovered Inca ruins without any other tourists around, but with good friendly helpful guide and other staff to look after us. We were able to interact with locals in a way quite different from that occurring in areas over run by tourists. Tips? Take warm clothes- it was freezing at night at altitude. Definitely include an Amazon trip as a good contrast to the mountains. Don’t buy hats- there are loads of hats, ponchos... (more)David Rampersad

Peru tour, Andes to Amazon
Memorable parts? On the Andes to Amazon I believe it was the Manu Wildlife Center. It was a charming facility with nice staff. Of course, the wildlife that we were fortunate enough to see was fabulous. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately during our time in Peru I picked up a nasty bacteria & viral infection. I was admitted into the hospital for 3 days / 2 nights which was during a portion of our arranged trip. We were not able to drive from Cusco through the cloud... (more)Christine Kinkel

Inca Highlights, adventure tour
Most memorable were horse riding on the hills above Cusco, Cusco itself a beautiful city, the floating reed island and most certainly the time on the island with local family, I loved their way of life and their hospitality. (more)Ruth Stanley
Swimming in the Amazon, learning about the jungle and meeting a Shaman, Salsa dancing in Cusco, staying with a local family in Armanti and folk dancing to traditional music, the colours, textiles and crafts, music, food and drink (more)Amanda Whittington
Unforgettable experience. Cusco and Machu Picchu were the highlights. (more)Maitane Zubiaurre

Lima to Santiago overland holiday
Memorable parts? Machu picchu and the Uyuni salt flats. Tips? Pack well, all types of clothing are necessary and be prepared for the unexpected. Local benefits? Yes. Overall rating? Exciting. (more)Michelle Zammit

Peru and Inca Trail small group tour
One of the best I have had, a truly wonderful experience...the trip to Machu Picchu stands out just because it is such an iconic place, but the rainforest, the desert, lake Titicaca, Cusco, Colcha Canyon, were all brilliant places to visit. (more)David Greaves
The holiday was superb from start to finish and far exceeded our expectations. The expected highlights of Macchu Picchu etc lived up to expectations with the remaining destinations visited exceeding them (rainforest... colca canyon and sacred valley). (more)Duncan Cairns
Utterly fantastic! (more)Jo Curry

Peru holiday
Memorable parts? An option within our trip was to trek the little used Moonstone trail. What a good choice it was - amazing scenery, a real physical challenge (highest point 4850m and highest camp at 4300m)and peace and solitude - we didn't see another group during the 4 day trek. The altitude did make the going hard but our guide (Elias) was a great help and the views and sense of achievement upon reaching the highest point were tremendous. Camp 2 was a stunning spot, on a slightly raised... (more)Steve Braysher

Peru small group holiday, Lima to Cuzco
Memorable parts? Meeting local artisans and craftspeople, seeing the sights of the city of Cusco and especially Machu Picchu! Tips? Learn a few phrases in Spanish for those times when you're on your own exploring the area. If paying locals for photographs (as seems to be extremely prevalent in the areas where tourists flock), be sure to work out the price and pay ahead of time to avoid any potential problems or misunderstandings. Local benefits? Yes- I bought a number of things... (more)Jennifer Janviere

Inca Discovery holiday
Memorable parts? Hiking through the Peruvian jungle and feeling like you were discovering the Incan ruins yourself. Tips? "It's cold on the top of the mountain" means snow, even in March (summer). The weather was colder and wetter than I anticipated. Local benefits? We benefited the porters who were carrying our luggage, and were pretty environmentally friendly. I wasn't sure how to take the very aggressive salespeople- I think it's better to sell something than to just... (more)Melissa Mundo

Peru adventure holiday, Sacred Land of the Incas
Memorable parts? The two most amazing pieces of the holiday were finally arriving at Machu Picchu and the truly beautiful lodge in the rain forest. Tips? While I was there, there was a week of travel strikes which affected taxi, rail, and bus so we were trapped in the not very exciting Puno. My second week was pretty dull and I didn't get to see the archaeology around Puno/Cuzco I had hoped to. Beware. Local benefits? A little. We visited local weaving community and the...
