Peruvian Amazon holidays. Tours & holidays in 2016 & 2017

Over half of Peru is blanketed in thick rainforest, which is one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. Manu National Park alone hosts more bird species than the USA and Canada combined, and Peruvian Amazon holidays based out of Iquitos or Puerto Maldonado are likely to reveal howler monkeys, sloths, anacondas, peccaries, macaws, and pink river dolphins. Keep an eye out too for elusive tapirs, pumas and over 1000 bird species.

Peru family adventure holiday
Memorable parts? We were hiking for few hours through beautiful Inca trail and at the end we had seen Machu Picchu in clouds and then in a full sun. Tips? Take good rain gear when you travel during wet season. We were there in December and weather was good, but sometimes we got surprises. Local benefits? I think we benefit local people. We visited places stayed in hotels, bought souvenirs. It seems, money we spend stayed there. I hope money collected in tickets will be... (more)Iwona Warszawska

Peru tour, Andes to Amazon
Memorable parts? On the Andes to Amazon I believe it was the Manu Wildlife Center. It was a charming facility with nice staff. I was admitted into the hospital for 3 days / 2 nights which was during a portion of our arranged trip. We were not able to drive from Cusco through the cloud... (more)Christine Kinkel

Memorable parts? This was my first time in Peru and to the Amazon region. I loved the journey from Cusco down to Manu. We got to see so many different types of communities, habitats, scenery, weather. The contrast of the stark upland farms to the lush river basin. The birds and sounds of the rainforest were memorable. Our guide was excellent and I learned so much about the area and culture. The tour operator staff shared their passion for the projects and research. Tips? Bring layers.... (more)Dawn Hein
