Most memorable for me was the window into the lives of Cubans. I learned a lot from our guide and the staff, but I had the chance to talk to many Cubans throughout the course of the tour. I will remember Cuba as a place with great untapped potential for economic development and growth. (more)Cynthia Gilliam
Hearing about the way of life/history from the guide was the most memorable. Excellent, loved the way the guide introduced the whole country and way of life to us. (more)Lois Martin

Visiting the NGOs, cycling out of Phnom pehn, fighting through sand in the midday sun, cycling through rice fields, conquering a 20k mountain climb or cycling into the chaos of Saigon/ hoi chi mihn? Too many to mention wonderful memories.... (more)Charlie Stockford
Very hard to pick just one element of the trip, it was all memorable. Cycling through Vietnam and Cambodia gives you a chance to immerse yourself in local life in a way that travelling by any other means would have been impossible. We cycled well off the beaten track, through villages and paddy fields, along dirt tracks and local paths. We ate incredible local, fresh food and visited some fascinating places on the rest days. Memorable parts? Climbing the Hai Van pass. We all made it to the top and were supported throughout by our guide Danh who gave us cold drinks and cheered us on. The food was also great and we were treated to genuine local cuisine, all delicious. Tips? Take more money than recommend, especially if you want to take presents home or drink wine with you evening meal. Some people couldn't get money out of the ATMs so tell your bank that you are going to Vietnam. You don't really need US... (more)Cath Lysley

Although I cannot pick just one, the guide (leader) has played a huge role. Memorable parts? Cycling along the beach near Riga, and then down the Curonian Spit on beautifully maintained cycle routes through trees were both wonderful. Tips? Averaging about 50km a day on mainly flat routes, the cycling is easy and should appeal to almost any cyclist who likes a potter, but might frustrate those looking for something more challenging. Easy countries to holiday in and things essentially worked really well. Do take mosquito repellent - most places are fine,... (more)Edward Milford

Memorable parts? Two things: Seeing the Naadam festival. The friendliness and competence of the local staff - two drivers and two cooks. They will remain in my affections forever. Tips? Take a lavalava. It makes an emergency tent when the hot sun is beating down on your head, it can be a towel, a bathrobe, a shoulder covering for temples, a modesty screen when having a public pee stop. Never travel without your lavalava. Local benefits? I couldn't say. I sought out a fair... (more)Monica Holland

Sicily cycling holiday in Italy
From
£1,299
including UK flights
Memorable parts? Well, most memorable was possibly cycling up a zig zag mountain road in the teeming rain with a river coursing down the road!! That was freak weather though. Most memorable in a good way was the wild flowers, which were everywhere and spectacular, and the food, which was the best I have ever eaten. Tips? Do some training riding up hills! On two of the days there are very long climbs (and very long descents afterwards). Bring clothes for a wide range of weathers if... (more)Wendy Pillar
