Memorable parts? Imposible to pick one thing as it was 3 weeks of wall to wall fantastic experinces. Etosha NP.... Game drives & waterhole at night/early morning! An elephant suddenly looming from nowhere in the dark & playing in the water. Rhino trekking....7 just 8metres away. Awesome! Elephant encounter right in front of our vehicle! 4 hippos 10 metres in front of us. Okavango mokoro canoes & camp & tracking and amazing helicopter flight over delta (own expense). Johannesburg to Cape Town tour in South Africa
From

Memorable parts? Seeing leopards for the first time after many trips to 'leopard countries', being 2/3 metres on foot from a white rhino, being 4/5 metres on foot from a cheetah on a kill, a great group dynamic, great tour leader and assistants, friendly local people, great walking opportunities....so much! Tips? In future the camping element of this trip is being dropped. Pack as lightly as you can (frequent laundry opps) but be aware of big temperature swings, we experience forty... (more)Alan Thomas
Cape Town to Victoria Falls small group camping safari
From
€2,290

Memorable parts? Every day was a different wonder but the two days wild camping at the Okavanga Delta were really special. Tips? Be prepared for very early starts and not much relaxing times. Local benefits? Yes, local guides were used in a number of locations but obviously driving such long distances is not exactly environmentally friendly. Overall rating? Excellent. Vic Falls to Johannesburg tour, Southern Africa
From
£1,095

Memorable parts? The elephant by the side of the road in the wildlife corridor when we stopped to use the 'bush toilet'. The driver had not noticed it behind the solitary tree before we got out of the vehicle. I would also say the group of people I was with: the other tourists, and our driver and cook. Camping in the Khama Rhino Sanctuary and the Okavango Delta were amazing because these were the only times we truly were around nature and wildlife when not on a scheduled tour. Tips? There... Memorable parts? The whole experience on this African adventure was fantastic and exceeded our expectations - from the numerous animals, to the ever changing landscape and cultures of each of the countries visited - each day was a highlight! We loved the walking safaris looking for (and finding) White Rhino's, the open air driving safaris, the wilderness of the Okavango wild camping and mokoro trip with hippos. We really enjoyed the Great Zimbabwe Monuments and the views from World's View... (more)Nettie Powell

It was excellent. The accommodation was superb. There was an enormous number of things to do and see at each stop-over. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and authentic. And most of all, the natural surroundings were beautiful beyond belief. (more)John Barker

I can't wait to return to Africa with these operators. It is a unique and special way to see a country and feel the local vibe. Extensive overland travel gives more than a taste of the local culture and enables one to experience a very different way of life than we are used to in the western world. (more)Honey Bernstein

Memorable parts? Cycling through the majestic peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains, cooling off with a swim in refreshing waterholes, wildlife spotting in Kruger National Park. Tips? Cycle training will give you a better experience as some of the rides are quite challenging with lots of uphill. Local benefits? Yes. The trip was relatively low impact and used accommodation owned/ run by local people. Overall rating? Awesome! (more)Jennifer Steward

Memorable parts? Has to be Kruger National Park game drives but every day offered something exciting. Tips? Be aware that if you are British you may be the only English first language speaker as this company don't seem to sell many holidays to the UK - don't know why as they are great. Local benefits? Yes but it wasn't a main theme Overall rating? Excellent value, great fun, exciting (more)Hilary Cooper
Spring wild flower holiday in Namaqualand, South Africa
From
R10,200

Memorable parts? The people we met made our holiday! The flowers, landscapes and birds were all wonderful but it was our guide, driver and hosts who made the experience so special. Tips? Take note of the "what to pack" guidance - you really do need sensible shoes and a good camera! Local benefits? Yes, very much so. The holiday provider select their partners very carefully. Overall rating? We always hesitate to give 5* across the board as many people do, though... (more)Alan Johnson

Wonderful from start to finish. I didn't want it to end. (more)Caitlin Phillips

Going to sleep in my tent, in the heart of the bush knowing that I was surrounded by all the wild life that I had come to see was my most memorable moment... You just can't get this fantastic feeling in a lodge or hotel. A wonderful experience. Well managed and more fun than I would ever have imagined. (more)Stephen McNally

Holiday in South Africa, Madikwe and Waterberg
From

Memorable parts? Most exciting - seeing lions, leopard and African wild dogs eating, sleeping or playing from only a few feet away. Most memorable - visit to Soweto. Tips? We did a late booking, but I would recommend booking early to ensure you visit the reserves you really want. Local benefits? All centres were very conservation minded. Benefit to local people harder to assess in South Africa. Tips? We had a really great holiday. (more)Jackie Hunt

Camping safari in Southern Africa
From

Memorable parts? Most memorable moments were the sunset cruise and land safari at Chobe National Park in Botswana. Also camping at Elephant Sands where you can see elephants at a waterhole for hours. Tips? By all means go to southern Africa but do NOT book with this holiday provider. Before I booked I asked about what vehicle would be used on this trip. I was told about their great safari truck but for Game Trails both camping and accommodation trips they only use a minivan. It was... (more)Nancy Wiesenfeld
Cape Town to Victoria Falls holiday in South Africa
From
£2,799
including UK flights
Memorable parts? For me the National Parks were always going to be the highlight and they didn't disappoint. Etosha and Chobe are so different from each other but both have lots of interesting animals. We saw a cheetah family with a fresh kill, several black rhino, more giraffe and elephants than you could ever hope for and a good number of hippos at Chobe too. We also had some very dramatic weather in the shape of two major thunderstorms, made all the more exciting/scary by the fact we... (more)Wendy Pountain
South Africa Scenic Route small group camping safari
From
€1,690

Memorable parts? The animals! We had lots of opportunity to see them up close. Tips? It can be challenging. It is real camping where you have to set up and take down tents. To see the animals and also to cover the great distances that we did (over 3500 km), we had to get up early many mornings. Some days we ate breakfast standing up. Even at the best of times, we sat on small fold up canvass chairs. Some days involved sitting most of the day in a mini bus. The hikes were also often... (more)Lee Farnworth
