Antarctic cruise and hiking in Chile
Memorable parts? Antarctica was magnificent but if I had to choose but one most memorable moment it would be the sunset and scenes on the night we elected to camp out... Tips? Being prepared for the rapidly changing conditions and being equipped with the correct clothing. Respect where you are and its beauty. Sadly too many noisy co travellers missed out on taking in the beauty and reflecting on the moment.. Local benefits? Tour operators were excellent in maintaining a strict... (more)Edmund Raczkowski

Tailor made holiday in Peru
Memorable parts? EVERYTHING - it was just great! Tips? To inform themselves very early (6 month before booking) to get the most out of it. We therefore had the best holidays ever and people we met on our tour were just jealouse, because we could do all the cool stuff (we had organised the permits for Huayna Picchu, the Trek to Huchuy Qosqo etc.) Local benefits? Yes I do Overall rating? Great! (more)Barbara Buchegger

Tailor made holiday in Brazil
We had a morning horse riding down a flooded area at the start, with our feet touching the water, and then across more open country; the wild flowers and birds were amazing. A 5.30 am canoe trip which was magical, so quiet and peaceful, seeing the beauty of the sun rising and hearing the early morning bird song; the canoe being so quiet we were able to get very close to birds before they flew. Later that afternoon we visited a fishing village down the river and were invited into their one room house... (more)Harvey Bromley
The Pantanel and Iguacu were wonderful. The Pousada at the Pantanel was great with wildlife wandering all over the place and the food was good too. (more)Linda White
The arrangements went like clockwork and all the guides and drivers were very friendly and helpful...fantastic holiday. (more)Jill Joseph

Galapagos cruises
The first day arriving in Galapagos and seeing the sea turtles, snorkelling, swimming next to sealions was the most memorable part of this holiday. (more)Miss D.D
The most memorable parts were seeing and swimming with many of the wildlife including penguins, sea lions, dolphins. Driving through ocean surrounded by volcanoes on all sides. (more)Matt Hayden
Visiting one of the most unique places left on earth, and seeing how protective tours and the park authorities are keeping it that way, were most memorable. Amazing and excellent - truly a trip of a lifetime, and one of the few times one can genuinely use the word 'awesome'. (more)Ayesha Kyari

Bolivia and Peru tour
Memorable parts? Inca Trail! Making it and seeing Machu Picchu. Tips? Bring clothing for a variety of weather. Be prepared for early mornings, the possibility of altitude sickness... The more in shape you are, the more you will get out of the trip as well! Local benefits? Yes, I think the homestays were great, and the trip encompassed ecotourism, especially in the Amazon. Overall rating? Great. (more)Rachel Carbonell

Inca Trail & Amazon holidays

Family teenager holiday in Peru
Memorable parts? The camping, food and walking through the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Piccu are a few of my many highlights. Our guide, Reni was terrific and the family we travelled with were super. The holiday gradually gears you up for the big trek, you acclimatise in Cusco before exploring the Sacred Valley and attempting the mountain bike ride. Tips? The accommodation is on the whole fairly basic, with one or two quirky gems, but we weren't expecting the hotel in Agua Calientes... (more)Jo Turnbull

Quito to La Paz overland tour
Memorable parts? Trekking the Inca trail was fantastic, it exceeded all my expectations. The porters were superhuman and the tour leaders superb. It is the best experience I have had so far. Tips? Listen to the safety tips of your tour leaders regarding valuables. Things did go missing on public transport with some of my travelling buddies. Local benefits? We visited local communities and bought direct from them. Stayed with families to experience their daily life. Overall... (more)Yuetmui Chung

Brazil wildlife holiday, tailor made
Memorable parts? Travelling in the Amazon, unfortunately they had the worse floods in 60 years which made getting ashore more difficult but exciting!! Tips? Go for it!! But plan well ahead and take the appropriate clothing etc. Local benefits? When in Rio a trip to the Flavella'a was beneficial to the local people, as I understand that the tour operator paid a percentage, plus the visitors purchased drinks in their local bars. Also when at the Eco Lodge in the Amazon visit... (more)Clive Pagett

South America tour, coast to coast
Brilliant, amazing and so informative and well organised by our guide Etienne (more)Anne Marie Murray
For me it was a life long goal to see Machu Picchu, which no picture or video can replace the memories logged in my head of the sheer size and awe of this place. But also whilst travelling through other countries, the beautiful landscapes just amaze you. (more)Michael North
Every day was a wonderful experience during our stay in Brazil and Ecuador but I guess the Galapagos will be the most memorable. (more)Ann Hammersley

Galapagos activity & wildlife holiday, land based
Memorable parts? All of it ! Surpassed expectations. Micromanagement by competent guides impressive. Just one guide did not speak adequate English ( on a boat tour ) Tips? Do not even clean teeth using local water. Sea water can be quite cold ( especially at Kicker Rock). Wet suit hire is cheap and advisable for some Good mosquito prophylaxis essential Local benefits? Cannot really comment - I fear for the Galapagos with plans to increase tourism dramatically (200,000 - 500,000... (more)Elizabeth Powell-Brett

Peru tailor made holiday, highlights
Our trip across Peru definitely benefitted local communities, because much of our travel was hosted by them. (more)Simon McArthur
The whole experience was superb - but if I had to pick one it was arriving at Macchu Pichu at 5.00pm after a day's hike to find it empty (it closes at 5.00pm so everyone had left). An empty Macchu Pichu was an unexpected surprise. (more)Ric Pimental

Tour of Patagonia, El Calafate & Torres del Paine
Memorable parts? I loved traveling around Patagonia, visiting blue and greenish blue lakes, the steppes, the glaciers, the snow capped mountains, the unusual wildlife. An extra bonus was the view out of my hotel window directly in front of Lago Argentino, over which the skies constantly changed. For me, Patagonia was pure magic. Tips? The holiday company provides you with many options so take advantage of their services. They are also on standby should you need help, want to make... (more)Joanna Drzewieniecki

Peru tailormade holiday
Memorable parts? Peru is a wonderful destination with so much more to offer than just the iconic Machu Picchu - all thoroughly recommended. Tips? As we did, do the circuit in an anti-clockwise direction, so that you finish up with Macchu Pichu as the jewel in the crown, but don't miss out Arequipa and Colca Canyon. Local benefits? In a relatively poor country where tourism is so important to the economy, every aspect of such a trip benefits the people somehow - even paying... (more)Paul Mors

Guyana holiday, wildlife & culture
The local people certainly seemed to think that tourism benefited them and at Surama in particular were very keen to encourage it . The use of the forests for tourism should probably discourage the government from damaging them through extractive practices such as logging and mining. (more)DEE HUMPHRYS
Best bits: Guyanan rainforest and savannah. Staying at Karamambo and Surama. Seeing the giant anteater and cock of the rock. Flying over Kaieteur Falls. (more)Chris Harper
From £3149 excluding flights
Bolivia adventure holiday
Memorable parts? Visiting the salt flats - they were beautiful, and totally original. A real experience! Tips? Insist that your tour leader comes with you on the 3 day tour of the Uyuni 4x4 tour - the drivers are completely irresponsible (drinking beer at breakfast, driving dangerously, driving the vehicles when they are not roadworthy), and rude (not listening to the group's concerns regarding the above, and threatening to leave people stranded in the middle of the tour), that it... (more)Marilyn McManus
From £849 - £999 excluding flights
Highlights of Peru holiday
Memorable parts? Arriving to the Sun Gate at 6am after the Inca trail...and seeing the clouds moving away and revealing Machu Picchu! The homestay in the peninsula of Lake Titicaca was also the most amazing experience as was the bus ride from Puno to La Paz... those views of the Lake Titicaca were so beautiful, both on Peruvian and Bolivian side! Also riding the Worlds most dangerous road in Bolivia was super!!! Tips? Remember that Peru and Bolivia are developing countries and hygiene... (more)Kristiina Puusaari-Sheahan
From £1861 - £2399 excluding flights
Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro tour
Memorable parts? There were a number of great parts to the holiday and it is impossible to single out one simply due to the diversity of the experiences we had. The whole holiday was amazing, but if I had to name the top three things I would say (in no particular order!) going to Iguazu Falls (especially the boat ride under the falls!), the boat trip we went on in Paraty and just being in Rio. Tips? If you want to see Buenos Aries or Rio (and I suggest they're worth seeing!!) then... (more)Carol Clutton
From £1350 - £1429 excluding flights
Ecuador holiday, Quito & the Galapagos
Memorable parts? Swimming with sea-lions in the Galapagos. Tips? Don't delay! There wasn't anything I could fault. Local benefits? Yes - local guides were used in each city and also for the boat crew. The boat was classified as an eco-catamaran. Overall rating? Excellent. Very sad to have had to leave. (more)Sarah Hext
From £2200 excluding flights
Peru family adventure holiday
Memorable parts? We were hiking for few hours through beautiful Inca trail and at the end we had seen Machu Picchu in clouds and then in a full sun. Tips? Take good rain gear when you travel during wet season. We were there in December and weather was good, but sometimes we got surprises. Local benefits? I think we benefit local people. We visited places stayed in hotels, bought souvenirs. It seems, money we spend stayed there. I hope money collected in tickets will be... (more)Iwona Warszawska
From £1150 excluding flights
Bolivia & Amazon jungle holiday
Memorable parts? I loved the Bolivian salt flats which were astonishing (although shockingly cold at night), and the pampass tour, especially swimming in the river and having the dolphins come up and nuzzle me! Tips? Bring extra warm clothes for overnight sleeping on salt flats - there is no heating and although the salt hotel is not too cold, the 2nd night is really really cold. If you're flying direct into La Paz give yourself 1-2 days to aclimatise (take it slowly). I arrived... (more)Paul Brant
From £1375 excluding flights
Galapagos cruise, 6 days
Memorable parts? Seeing such amazing animals (including sharks whilst snorkelling) so close but in the wild still. Tips? Choose a boat that fits your activity levels - I am very active but I appreciate not everyone is! Also beware if you do get seasick - a smaller boat will be a challenge Local benefits? My holiday contributed to the local economy and didn't negatively impact the environment Overall rating? Fabulous fun - the crew, guide and group were also top quality (more)Fiona Muntz
From £1236 - £1880 excluding flights

It was the most challenging holiday I have ever been on. I came back home with many wonderful memories. Our guide, Carlos Luchuga, contributed a great deal in the success of my holidays. (more)Teresa Trippenbach
Great...Hiking the Inca Trail to see Macchu Picchu at the end and the Nazca Lines were the most memorable parts. (more)Jack Bond
