This was a brilliant holiday for myself and my teenage sons. All of us have rekindled an interest in Egyptian history. There was lots to do and see, in fact never a dull moment.
(more)It was a privilege to be involved in the wild dog rescue at Thanda Reserve when a poacher's snare was caught around her neck. Seeing the biggest tuskers when at Tembe was another highlight and identifying them was great fun. (more)We were really impressed with the genuine warmth of greeting from this Bedouin based community project, the welcome tea drink, the sunset walk with more tea around a camp fire! However we went and took a couple of lessons and we loved it. A really excellent week. Good diving, good food, and good weather... Being amongst the fish and the coral every day - unbelievable colour and variety. Most memorable was standing on the bow of the ms expedition, all by myself, freezing cold, cruising down the Lemaire channel, surrounded by icebergs... Out of this world.
