St. Lucia travel information
The second largest of the Windward Islands, the volcanic island of St Lucia has some of the finest scenery in the West Indies, rich with lush rainforests and a great variety of flora and fauna. Organised by the Forestry Department and the National Trust, a range of nature trails and hikes are available to explore the island's rainforest, mountains and plantations, with bird watching, climbing or horse-riding as alternative activities.
Many of the coastal towns and villages exude a typically West Indian style – colourful and culturally diverse and backed by lush vegetation. St Lucia's magnificent sandy beaches and warm seas provide opportunities for virtually every water-sport from sailing and windsurfing, to water-skiing, scuba diving and sea fishing.
